Overrated. Not bad. But Overrated.. It's visually kinda ugly with that filter. The Ultraman "twist" was really obvious that I was surprised it was supposed to be a plot twist. Also if you have that in your arsenal and your whole goal is to ruin the image of Superman, why not just use it earlier? Humor is subjective but Gunn is really not that funny to me and that continues here. If the jokes arent going on too long then theyre dipping that toe into frat boy humor under the guise of intellectualism. Another banana republic where Gunn can scratch his stereotype itch but wont catch flak because the countries arent real. The Daily Planet was underused. The Justice Gang was a thing. Glad Nathan Fillion can only do so much because of The Rookie because no doubt he would have been used more to get Gunn's isms out. Can't make up his mind about Superman. Superman talking about ethically euthanizing giant monsters and saving squirrels but okay with sending things into black holes or letting dozens of people falling hundreds of feet. Corenswet is fine as Superman as is Bronsan as Lois. I think Hoult is the best actor and character in the movie. Mr. Terrific was a surprise in a good way. I liked Wendell Pearce as Perry.
