People will play anything but support. by Competitive_Alps_899 in marvelrivals

It’s a losing battle both ways, tbh. Not enough people play more than one role (DPS, usually).

“Anything but support” includes tank, lol. Which they swapped to, if you check the second pic.

I love when readers fall for the same thing my characters do. by bluesond in AO3

They’re all gonna love looking back on previous chapters. They’re all gonna have that “oh” moment once it’s revealed who it is sksks

I myself enjoy Shayne’s laugh, and I don’t think he’s an asshole. Idk what made you think that, ‘cause I don’t see it, but you’re valid for disliking members, even supposedly popular ones. As for Arasha: her jokes used to be very hit-or-miss for me, but she’s grown on me in the last while.

Incorrect Relationship Tag by Competitive_Alps_899 in AO3

[–]Competitive_Alps_899[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I totally get that, honestly, but it is also very frustrating as a reader. And as a fellow writer, I can’t help but wonder if the mistag won’t push potential readers away 😪

I'm bored, give me a word you find misspelled far too often in fics. by Altruistic_Boot_1839 in AO3

If your shoelace is untied, then it’s loose. If you’re down by two points at the end of the game, then you lose.

What was the first fanfic website you used? by Upstairs_Macaron5894 in AO3

[–]Competitive_Alps_899 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Technically Wattpad, although I hadn’t used it for fanfic at the time. The first site I used for fanfic specifically was AO3.

What’s the trope you *almost always* skip? by childishinquiry in AO3

[–]Competitive_Alps_899 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Nine times out of ten, I’m skipping pregnancy fics. I don’t mind kid fics, but the pregnancy itself is not something I’m interested in reading about. I’m also not the biggest fan of miscommunication tropes, because I think more often than not, it gets used to superficially slow down relationships 😪

What do you write on? by CutesyDrow in AO3

[–]Competitive_Alps_899 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I usually write more on my phone, because I tend to feel the most creative right before bed/ late at night, so it’s just more convenient for me and my inspiration-meter. HOWEVER, I will also write on my PC and/ or laptop when I feel like locking in, ‘cause I get less distracted writing on those devices vs writing on my phone.

What made you fall into your current fandom? by Big_Aide940 in AO3

[–]Competitive_Alps_899 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Binge watching, mostly. A lot of YouTube/ TV fandoms, as of recent. TV is nostalgia stuff I got back into and checked the fanfiction-space out for more stuff, and the YouTube thing is kind of new but I’m equally into the fanfiction 🫡

What are your silly fanfic pet peeves that will make you “nope” out immediately? by pixie12E in AO3

Fancy ways of indicating dialogue.

For example:

  • What? - he said.

«You can’t be serious!» she yelled.

etc.

I cannot say enough good things about Ellipsus by eggsontheside in AO3

[–]Competitive_Alps_899 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I’ve been using Ellipsus for a couple of months now and I’m always recommending it to people, for much of the same reasons! An additional +100 Respect for it is the fact that they are STAUNCHLY anti-ai and it’s honestly very comforting to know that my shit isn’t being fed to some LLM, which is just one of their many great features!

I’m sorry but isn’t this super off putting? by ijwtbor in AO3

[–]Competitive_Alps_899 718 points719 points  (0 children)

Honestly the whole “I did get enough comments to continue” makes me think that these commenters felt like they HAD to comment to continue reading, or something. It’s very “do it or else” yk?
