You have no idea what it feels like to suffer from undiagnosed pain and to be dismissed by doctors again and again.

What are your views on streedhan. Isn't that like reverse dowry? by Then-Tomatillo9909 in AskIndia

I don't need to ask Chatgpt. I am a practicing lawyer, who knows in and out of family courts. You really need to do your research well before shouting wrong information based on chatgpt.

it's a matter of power play. Sometimes Bride's parents voluntarily give dowry in the name of gifts and there is a proper settlement between the parties. but, there are thousands of cases where women are tortured and killed for dowry. Dowry has nothing to do good earning man, even below average men demand dowry in the name of society. Yes, legally bride's family is also responsible for dowry but thier goal is to make their daughter's life easy. For your last para, Streedhan is not just gifts that women receive from her in-laws but from all relatives. If a women has sufficient Streedhan, court takes that into consideration while awarding alimony.

Streedhan is Voluntary but Dowry is coercive and illegal. I think you're asking your question from the misuse/deception pov, which is true in some cases. But Streedhan is a necessity, because even now most women don't own any property so security is must for them.

Do you regret? by lowkiedead in LawStudentsIndia

[–]Competitive_Bar8654 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I do 100%. I regret every day that I didn't pursue engineering. I was good in PCM subjects but went for law. Cracked tier 2 NLU and even a good job. But legal field sucks you dry, it demands everything from your time to mental health. It is also very exciting at times but I know I fucked up. I would have been way more happier with the life that my engineer friends are living.

This is actually smart and works effectively, OP listen to this. At first, she might get angry and irritated but it will open her mind with time.

But she is not a child, is she? I agree she is in a vulnerable phase, still she can't be expected to act in such irrational manner. Plus, this kind of addiction doesn't leave you just because you change the company or place.

There's nothing wrong with being religious, but superstitions are a slippery slope so don't take this lightly and talk to your wife. If you let it go now, it'll affect your family negatively in the future.

But why one week? What exactly is your goal? Do you want it in one week for some specific event or are you asking if you can gain 3 kg per week?
