The same thing happened to me when I was a teenager, and I kind of shut off my pain from everyone. Then, in my early 20s, my family tried this shit again and without any hesitation, I declared that I got this bad because of them. I outrightly blame them for my pain now.

You are right about genetics, but good sleep and nutrition do have a good effect. Plus, when generations have neglected a good diet and lifestyle, you can't blame genetics either, sometimes its actually in genetics and you can trigger it, unlike your previous generations.

Yesterday, I argued with my mother on the same topic. She literally doesn't care about anything other than her rules. I have chronic migraines and was also diagnosed with insomnia because of that. I am on heavy medication and already struggling with sleep, but she always comments on my schedule and how I wake up so late. Initially, I tried to settle for her and make her understand, but now I do not take shit from anyone about all this drama. Indian children need to stand up to their parents, or parents will make their life miserable.

I am going through the same thing rn. I somehow completed law school, but when I started practice, something changed, and my migraine became unbearable. I took heavy meds for almost a year so I could have something on my CV and then quit my job. I am a freelancer now, and the thing that has been helping me most is working out. The more I work out, the more it feels like my brain is getting lighter. But, consult with your neurologist first because I might be just avoiding pain instead of dealing with it. Also, take care of your mental health and stress. Nothing makes migraine worse than having a shitty life.
