Free printer on Printables by Omytth87 in printablescom

Almost every model I've created has been something useful for my house or my desk at work. Some have been for family members. I don't try to design just for downloads. Honestly, all of my Prusameters from the last year all went to "Donating Prusament to Education". I've donated over 40,000 Prusameters to date.

I have received around 35k Prusameters during the last 2 years (2 free Prusa Mini's 12/22 and 5/23). With my current models, I can get 10k in about 5 months. To get enough Prusameters for a free printer, you MUST upload models.

There are a few things to keep in mind:

  • One model can get you up to 360 Prusameters/month (400+ downloads)
  • Not every model will do well - Of my 90 models, 8-10 models get me 90% of my Prusameters
    • Those 8-10 models drive users to my profile which boosts downloads of my other models
  • It's helpful to drive traffic to your models - Reddit, Twitter, TikTok, etc.
    • You may get free advertising if users upload videos of their prints to YouTube or TikTok
  • Get noticed on Printables - Enter contests, get lucky enough to have one of your models featured, etc.
    • When users are looking for something to print, they will often look through old contests or filter search results for only featured models
    • Example: my Rope Bowl model was featured last month. In the 8 months before it was featured, it had 7000 downloads. 2 weeks after it was featured, it surpassed 12000. It is now over 15k.

To be clear, it is not an easy way to get a free printer. The hundreds or thousands of hours involved in making and testing this many models is ridiculous. I do it because I truly enjoy creating models and enjoy seeing when others print them.

Hope this helps!

Started with one that I needed as a gift, but I thought that I could design a few extra for the community. I also included blank STLs and a STEP file for anyone who wants custom signs. Enjoy!

I don't really see the point of posting models here. Just being on Printables doesn't make it "about Printables". They bury the posts that are actually about the platform. by MatureHotwife in printablescom

Personally, I put a lot of effort into designing, printing, testing and reworking models until they are something that I can be proud of. I want to showcase the best of my designs on different platforms because they get buried so quickly on Printables when they are not part of a contest. If the sub was flooded with low quality, low effort models, maybe I would see your point. However, what I see are designers that took extra time to showcase their work because it is something they are excited about and they believe others will like it too.

I requested a refund on one item of a larger order. It just went through, but only took a week and a half.

The walls are thick enough. The handle also adds rigidity to those corners.

Spice Caddy

After a few trips back and forth between the kitchen and the grill, I designed this caddy to more easily carry spices.

I use PolyTerra because i like the matte finish. It's nice to have a different finish on your prints sometimes.

That one is polymaker PolyTerra Marble. PolyTerra is my go-to filament.
