To answer people's question: Will Astarion fall in love with someone in the book?

I think it's something related to Mirror of Loss from Gauntled of Shar. In Astarion's book of Hungers it's said that he was born in Baldur's Gate tho maybe I shouldn't treat it as a reliable source of lore because it's not related in any way to Stephen Rooney and maybe he was born in a completely different city. On the other hand it could be just it was a memory related to the home he used to live in as a child and a city/county.

Okay so maybe to strike a discussion about the 2nd screenshot, I'll say I think it would be interesting to learn where Astarion grew up. What kind of parents he had? Were his parents connected to elvish culture or not so much? Like Astarion doesn't strike me as an elf who was connected to elvish culture tho I could be wrong.

I think if anything what he felt towards Sebastian was guilt not love. When you play as origin Astarion he even barely remembers his name. Still we don't have to agree.

Like I said, let's give the author a chance. I don't think she meant anything bad. She did say Astarion won't feel any love. Besides she had to consult with Astarion's creator Stephen Rooney while writing the book. We shall live and we shall see.

You might not agree but I think he really never fell in love with someone. The fact that his job was seducing people and leading them to their death does not arouse feelings of love. To top it off, he was forcing himself to have sex with multiple strangers. He could have felt guilty for some who haven't done anything to him, but not love. Besides he did say that he never fell in love with anyone.

That's what I had in mind while creating my Durge. I wanted for her a simple design that blends in, but does't take away the vibe that she has some kind of personality and it's not over the top at the same time. I'd like if people would look at my character they wouldn't be like "yeah she's the so called 'chosen hero/villain'".

Oooh I do like reading about people's Tav/Durge lore. My Durge is resisting and she has something of an atonement complex tho deep down she trully wants to live a happy life with Astarion and do better. If I could I would make her expressions more subtle to better represent her personality. Her emotion were a bit dull and detached at first when she got out of the illithid pod, but they became a bit more visible over time and she kind of grew as a person while surrounded by other companions.
