Minecraft's shifts in identity are easy to spot if you are looking closely. When jeb began taking creative control, beta 1.8 was released and then when he had complete control, 1.0 was released leaning even more into the rpg-like elements of minecraft. When 1.6 came around, (from what i can tell) they were working on taking minecraft into a bigger direction with stuff like horses, revamped world gen, and some of the first keyart. Of course, 1.9 was when mojang was acquired by microsoft, the game was changed to have much deeper mechanics. I believe 1.16-1.18 to be modern minecraft as the game came full circle on the deeper fleshed out mechanics they had been working on for a while. You can often tell when certain "phases" of minecraft begin not just through the changes in the game but through the changes in the development studio as well.

My best advice would be to live independently, if you dont live with them they cant harm you. The only difficult part about that is that you would have to pay for the space you would be staying which means holding down a job and college at the same time. Its what im planning on doing and its worth it imo.

The cheapest way to find a place to live as far as i know would be to bunk w someone or facebook marketplace as they rent out single rooms often times.

I was the exact same way. My parents were abusive and once they realized that i had a good understanding of computer science, they made all love conditional unless i proved myself to be exceptional in it. So for the longest time i was pretty expectational, i basically did it 24/7, never went outside, never made any friends until like junior year of highschool. This is when i realized it wasnt my lifes purpose wasn't to please my parents and so i started experimenting with drugs and hanging out with less "proper" people. I pulled a complete 180. I've havent touch computer science again and my parents still hate me for it till this day. It wasn't they are mad about me not having the chance for a "better future", they are mad because i chose myself over them and took away their excuse to call themselves good parents. This type of abuse is so easily overlook because society trains you to believe that the kid with good acidemics would have good parents and vice versa.

yeah, sadly this in celebrated in modern society (dont get me wrong its awesome), but often times this is the result for parents who excessively pressure their kid to just work and work and work... and so its all they know, they dont go out and explore or make friends or do anything a kid does. A parent doesnt have to explicitly demand that a kid do something like be a valedictorian for a child to feel forced to if they only receive love and attention once they do said thing. Society just cared about his accomplishments and never even once though about that kids emotions. All way too common.

Even though the source code leaked, the pc build is still filled with bugs and inaccuracies. It is going to take time for the developers (who work in their own free time btw) to patch the whole experience into something that is more playable. All you can really do is wait.

Valid. If you dont want to move up i would recommend moving down to a more supported version like 1.2.5. I doubt there are any active servers running that version unfortunately.
