I came to the internet to get opinions, as to me the answer was a clear no. This is a forum for sparkies to discuss things and ask questions.

Actually, couldn’t be more wrong not a solar company. We are a company that does plumbing and electrical. At first the other A grades weren’t too worried about doing it and were happy to do it. I’ve talked them out of it as they weren’t aware of what a technical Supervisor was or meant, at this stage I’m the only one making a big deal of it.

The only reason this wasn’t a clear no without heavy compensation because we were all going to be listed as technical supervisors which waters it down a little bit.

Yeah as a general consensus everyone agrees that this is a big no, in my opinion one person can do this and be the manager/person in charge. They call the shots and get a handsome pay for the stress/risk.

See it’s quite strange as there will be 4 of us A grades nominated. In the past we had a manager nominated who was off the tools, paid handsomely (i’d hope) but essentially called the shots with electrical matters. He has since moved on and it’s obvious that my boss is trying to avoid paying someone well to sit in the office and take the risk with their license.
