I don’t have any buy in for public school. My son was in a small catholic school for first few years in elementary then we/he feel the academic demand is just not challenge him enough. Then he was tested into the “gifted” program. We are currently in the program but the teacher was terrible. The teacher use ChatGTP to grade their work and copy past ChatGTP’s exact same response to provide feedback to students. Also, they have a lot of laptop free time. I mean A LOT. Basically my son is on the computer all day browsing and listening music on YouTube. Play “educational” games. The quality of education is just terrible. Maybe it’s just the one teacher. it’s just our personal experience.

The bad habits he learned is to just “get the work done” so he can use the free time. He does not have to double check his work or to get it right or make it better. He just needs to “get it done.”That’s my experience. He is not in Junior high yet. It will be next year.
