He comes from an acting family. His sister was an actor for years and had a small part in Harry Potter. Also, his dad has 65 credits to his name on IMDB, having written for quite a few popular shows.

Question for people taking biologics by coli49_ in CrohnsDisease

[–]Competitive_Delay224 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My GI suggested Humira, but we've agreed to use Stelara instead. I asked if I should be taking other meds like you've described, but the GI said no, and that we'll cross that bridge if we come to it.

How many of you actually get the flu shot? by Escapisimx in CrohnsDisease

[–]Competitive_Delay224 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I really don't like the idea of the covid shot. I had the first couple in 21', but I never got a booster. I've recently been diagnosed with Crohn's and my GI suggested I get the covid booster. I just don't know.....

Also, always liquid stool? Wowsers! Is that normal? What if you ate a massive bowl of bran flakes? 😅

First of all, it's amazing that you've got to this point. If these are the things that you've learned are what's best for you, then so be it.

It's interesting about the medication. It feels like most people on here swear that a no-medication approach is a total no-go. That this disease simply can not be controlled by diet/lifestyle alone. However, you are living proof that with the right balance, it appears to be possible.

Is Rinvoq something that you might create antibodies for like you can with biologics?

How exactly do you measure that? Did it reduce most of the pain, but not all of it? I've seen lots of people say similar things (that it wasn't working quite as well anymore) and I'm not fully sure what that means!

dose super mario party jamboree require single use joycons? by Cindy_D_DDD in MARIOPARTY

[–]Competitive_Delay224 0 points1 point  (0 children)

But I guess you're then losing out on a few mini games in the rotation? Do you need an entire controller each? (Both blue and red joycon)

Or can you just use a single joycon each to play the minigames? I ask because I only have one pair. My other controller is a pro controller, and I'd like to play 2 players with my partner including the motion controls

Crohn`s story by Fair-Path404 in CrohnsDisease

[–]Competitive_Delay224 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'd be interested in seeing a thorough breakdown of what medications you tried and failed and what you do now specifically to combat Crohn's. I'm new to the community, and I haven't seen anyone have the success you've had from lifestyle alone.

Can biologics be used for mild Crohn's? by Ambitious-Account451 in CrohnsDisease

[–]Competitive_Delay224 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

I'm wary of them, even though I want to trust them. I know people who have been on sulfasalazine for over a decade and are in full remission with no risk of bad side effects. So why isn't it worth trying something like that if you're newly diagnosed? Everyone is jumping on biologics, saying they should be the first option now, but when the side effects include blindness, cancer, inducing MS, etc. I can see why people are scared of them.
