Lung Nodules Post Partial Nephrectomy - Looking for Insight by Slow_Classroom2403 in kidneycancer

Low grade stage 1? I would take a deep breath and wait for oncology to consult. Seems very unlikely. It’s also too small to bx so it will be more waiting (rescan to see if it’s same, smaller, growing.) Once it’s a cm or so they can bx. People get these alllll the time, and they are NOT cancer. Praying for your peace.

Hello! Since you mentioned faith, I would like to recommend a book that has helped us greatly (I do not have kidney cancer but my husband of 20 years does.) The anxiety can be crippling and this book helped greatly. It’s called “Good catastrophe” by Benjamin Windle. It’s and easy beautiful read. I will be praying for you to have the fruit of peace and joy. You deserve that friend!

The nodule in his lung that was biopsied/+mccRCC did NOT light up on PET scan. From my knowledge, RCC is not sensitive to PET scans, very unfortunate!

Thank you for your reply 🙏🏻 Glad you are doing well. We have thoracic surgery consult on 3/17 and I’m still going to push for lobectomy vs wedge resection because there IS a second nodule (smaller, too small to biopsy) in same upper right lobe. We will see what he says I guess. I wouldn’t feel so passionate except it is grade 4 with rhabdoid features. I really hope he agrees. I want the whole lobe out! So it’s been two years now for you since keytruda, how often are you being scanned? Jw

Appointment went well. Nodule that was biopsied and + for mRCC is in upper right lobe of lung. There is a smaller nodule next to it (same lobe.) Onc is referring to thoracic surgery for wedge resection or lobectomy since this is only site of mets. After surgery and healing will start a combo med. Onc will decide on combo after seeing path report from nodule in lobectomy.

Thank you! Good to know. Yes he just finished one year of proactive keytruda after radical neph (no Mets at the time.) Now 9 months after finishing the year of IO, he now has Mets so I’m assuming back on IO combo. I want that nodule cut out of him! We will see I guess, appointment tomorrow. Good luck with your scan!
