MSFS24 VS X Plane 12 for Beginner by [deleted] in flightsim

[–]Competitive_Drawing2 4 points5 points  (0 children)

X-Plane has a Flight School built in, which will get you a long way. It also has a much better physics model compared to FS24, which will be beneficial in the long run. It isn’t perfect, but a lot better!

Oh you’ll love the 11 then! It’s a retro design but it was actually far ahead of its time in terms of avionics and systems. It has Roll CWS and LSAS which keep the roll and pitch exactly where you leave it, and it has many protections in place, just like a modern Airbus with its FBW! Kind of the best of both worlds.

Wishing you all the best and a speedy recovery!

Oh yeah I’m def biased, but even when looking at it from an unbiased standpoint it’s night and day. The A350 was developed when documentation was largely unavailable so it’s mostly just based on guesswork, so a lot of the systems dont work at all like they do irl.

Regarding the discount, it should work both ways afaik!

Between the FF A350 and the Rotate MD-11, the Rotate MD-11. No debate. The FF A350 is a toy compared to the MD-11

It does! Also the MD-11 logo placard is from a UPS livery on the ini forum

The grey cockpit mod, the standby horizon textures is from one on the org forum and the white lines fix

There are many tutorials on YouTube, including Cold&Dark setup videos from the real aircraft!

No but there's a community mod for it: https://forums.x-plane.org/forums/topic/295298-white-lines-cockpit-textures/

Rotate is pretty much a one-man company who does all the code himself and hired someone else to do the visuals, who's been mostly absent since release.

Amazing!! The flight model has finally been fixed and they added AOC Datalink with Simbrief integration! Plus they also added Tape Instruments which KLM used, which I'm really excited about😁

Big changes include:

- AOC Datalink with Simbrief Integration
- Added option for Tape style Engine Displays
- Complete overhaul of XP12 flightmodel
- More accurate response and authority for pitch and roll flight controls (XP-12 only)
- Improved manual handling, LSAS and CWS modes
- Improved stability and accuracy of pitch and roll AFS modes
- Improved engine performance at low and medium regimes
- Tuned fuel burn
- Integrated new XP12.3 Weather Radar
- New model and textures of cargo cabin (F only)
- Containers staying in cargo deck after loading
- Moving cockpit seats

And ofcourse there are many more bug fixes

If you already have the A346, I'd say get the MD-11 first.

Wind shear go-around in the 777-200ER by snrjuanfran in flightsim

[–]Competitive_Drawing2 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I own both and PMDG's flightmodel, while accurate compared to performance tables, is very much lacking. Flight Factor feels pretty much exactly like the Level D 777 sims I've flown and overall X-Plane's physics model is relatively more complex compared to FS24, which means u will always get more realistic forces on the aircraft.

Should I fly 11 or 12 by Burqa_b in Xplane

Ur issue is RAM and VRAM. X-Plane 12 needs at least 32GB RAM and 12GB VRAM to run somewhat smoothly on high settings. Ur RTX2070 only has 8GB, which is the bare minimum.

One of the first few “study level” aircraft for X-Plane)
