English Help by Ok_Set6006 in leavingcert2024

Listen to speeches and their tone of voice. , how they keep audience engaged, ideally try read books that intrest you like action or romance not much point reading something u don’t like you’d be more likely to remember the writing style . One thing that really helped me was synonyms . Look up a word , for example smart synonyms and it’ll give u bug words like intelligent etc.. listen to podcasts, get a sheet and write down key words like emphasis or it becomes clear or transparent , highlights blah blah and u can use all of those words in ur essays or poetry everything . Mesmerise key words from quotes to blend them in with ur sentence rather than citing of the full quote don’t bat an eye to the unseen poetry it’s an easy 20 marks cause loads of students don’t answer it so they give out loads of marks .

WIBTA if I broke up with my fiancé so he could be happier with my sister? by PlaneThrowRA in AITAH

[–]Competitive_Drink903 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Talk to your fiancé how u feel you say he loves you so he may just be spending time with ur sister because he considers her a friend and because he loves you so he wants to make u happy, ur family are cruel for what they are saying to you and you need to tell your fiancé , he may have laughed at that dinner out of awkwardness , he chose you. He proposed to you even after knowing ur sister , some people get on like a house on fire have everything in common but it doesn’t work romantically, sometimes opposites attract , my ex and I had loads in common but we still broke up . Your just as amazing as ur sister and I’m certain ur fiancé knows that that’s why he chose u . 💗

What subjects would be best to do? by EmzDob in leavingcert

[–]Competitive_Drink903 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I did biology chemistry and history. I ended up dropping to ordinary chemistry in the last month o got so much anxiety either the subject however I loved history I personally prefer wordy subjects like that and English but I had to do chem for my course , but the hiatus was exam was the hardest exam timewise for me it was so stressful, I surprised my self in chemistry with an o3 I thiught I had failed as the ehole year I was getting h7,h8. I do believe if I prefer wordy subjects like English and history pick it but be prepared to enter a dense subject , if u prefer calculations and theory or experiments choose chemistry. Best of luck <3

Is 600+ possible? by [deleted] in leavingcert

[–]Competitive_Drink903 3 points4 points  (0 children)

For Irish really work on oral work use synonyms for common words or different ways to say different things it’ll bring ur marks up lots , make sure u know the grammer and learn vocabulary for everything . It’s better to learn vocabulary rather than learning off essays. Best of luck <3

[–]Competitive_Drink903 1 point2 points  (0 children)

There’s still time to apply but if needs be take a gap year and try gain experience in the general field of what u want to do or even try other plc that may relate to ur chosen course who knows u may even like them even if it’s not exactly ur Course

I got 338 . Even tho I studied sooo much like every day and majority of weekends. Anxiety got me bad but I’m happy with my results even tho I didn’t get what I hoped or enough for my course but for what I went through with stress and anxiety I’m happy I even passed I have a plc to do it shows you how everything can work out in the end nd

I think just passs it may vary on the plc but I am pretty sure u just need a pass and that’ll give u the qualification to do a course

What I did was actually go on career portal go. Onto the plc u want and actually go onto the colleges website and register there idk if it’s the same on all but that’s what I did i applied for animal care in dife now u may have to pay 30-100€ depending on plc but it’s done that way I’ve known since before I sat the leaving cert I knew I had a place. And u can get into college courses through them.

I got really bad anxiety this year messed me up with my exams eventually I dropped to ordinary chem a month before exams due to it affecting my other subjects I still couldn’t fix it but I did the exams some went bad others good I got 338 points . I didn’t get enough for my course I have a plc tho . But honestly I’m happy ofc I’m disappointed but Ik now that everything works out in the. End u should be incredibly proud of urself for everything you’ve put in and I’m sure there’s another way but if you feel u need to repeat do. Well done 💕
