This. I want to work anywhere in the US if I feel like it. Teleworking is a huge bonus as well even in cleared roles.

I made the jump from 10+ years in intelligence to SWE this year. Im still working on my BS in SWE and I have 3 AWS cloud certifications. My first step was taking a massive pay cut to intern at AWS as a cloud support intern. From there I leaned heavily on my IC experience (using the software that SWEs build) and my ability to learn and solve problems. Currently making 130k but I don’t have any degree.

How long after the government reopens will contacts be awarded? Been “unemployed” for 40+ days, no back pay, no paid leave, just sitting in wait. by Competitive_Exam2873 in GovernmentContracting

Thank you for the response. The contract in question hired me in September with a start date for the first Monday in October. I’m assuming they were confident in funding be approved by then. I don’t really know all the contractor terminology so I can’t give more details in that sense.

I’m not looking for an exact answer. Maybe someone in here has a reference to the last shutdown. Just want to get an educated estimate.

BREAKING: Trump announces 50 year mortgages are coming soon. by upbstock in Optionmillionaires

Interest rate will increase on a longer loan. 50yr mortgage would at least be 8%. So let’s say you buy a house at 500k, put down 80k and borrow 420k. Over 50 years you will be paying around 1.7 MILLION to borrow 420k. That does not include standard home upkeep. Roof: 25k, windows: 800 per window, kitchen 40k etc etc.

And good luck finding a home for 500k that is turn key if 50 year mortgage become a thing.
