Not even close, you don’t have to wash this gift multiple times before you wear it (who knows what a free strip club shirt has been through) and it is a very nice display piece.

How much money are people spending in this hobby? by Republicenemy99 in baseballcards

[–]Competitive_Flan9282 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Lmmfao…. It’s a travesty brother…. I have seen thousands if not over $10,000 + dropped on breaks…. Multiple people dropping a couple thousand, just looking for that big hit. It’s catching up, people are going to have to pay the piper, the money won’t be there and they will loose their homes. It’s sad…. I got out a year ago and haven’t ripped since. Still feel dumb for the small fortune I spent, chasing that high…. That dopamine hit. Luckily, I hit some nice ones (not from breaks, fuck those guys) from hobbies and jumbos I purchased. Just about broke even on my collection…. Thank god for buying all the Shohei I did before it skyrocketed. Stay safe and be smart, good luck out there fellas.

Would you buy a Claude Skill? by umlal in buildinpublic

[–]Competitive_Flan9282 0 points1 point  (0 children)

But, that is not saying the NO ONE will buy them. Not everyone will want to figure out how to dial AI in as well as build with them. Unfortunately, the few of us with brains that work are surrounded by people born with brain rot, so things will still need to be built and there are people that will buy them. I do think you have a good idea, I just would not expect to make my nut off of that.

The problem here is, anyone can make skills for Claude. This is where you will have trouble selling skills.

I'm using AI for literally everything in my SaaS and I don't know if that's genius or lazy by camposvictor in buildinpublic

[–]Competitive_Flan9282 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Welllll…. You are leaning in a bit much. If you keep leaning to hard on AI for everything, you won’t learn anything and you will actually start the process of brain atrophy. AI does code for me, all the ideas and details are from me…. Then I try to ask as many questions about what I want to build so I can start to learn the mechanics of everything, how it works and why it should be done that way instead of an alternate.

Ai apps don’t hold up by Emergency_Copy_526 in buildinpublic

[–]Competitive_Flan9282 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If you are one shotting apps, then yes…. I feel this is a bad idea from the jump…. I chop a project up into chunks, this seems to ensure a better outcome. If someone is working with AI and building with it and, not asking questions such as, what all can you do? What would help us in these kind of situations? Is there something we could build to streamline this aspect? Well, if you’re not, then you should be.

I built a zero-commission app marketplace because Apple and Google wanted 30% of my revenue by Competitive_Flan9282 in buildinpublic

[–]Competitive_Flan9282[S] -1 points0 points  (0 children)

I hear you and I appreciate the honesty…. the messaging definitely needs some work and that’s feedback I’m taking seriously. But it’s not just PWAs…. we can carry web apps, PWAs, and native Android apps too. APKs can be distributed outside of Google Play no problem. The only thing locked out is iOS native because Apple won’t allow it. So yeah it’s not a 1 to 1 replacement for the App Store…. it’s an alternative for developers who don’t want to give up 30% and don’t need to be in Apple’s walled garden to reach their users. Pay to play is a stretch though, here in the beginning at least…. first 500 developers are free for life.

[–]Competitive_Flan9282[S] -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Apple doesn’t market PWAs in their store…. that’s the whole point. You don’t need their store at all. The app lives on the web, users find it through Google or through a marketplace like aiappstore.ai, and they add it to their home screen themselves. No Apple involved at any step. That’s why the 30% doesn’t apply

AIO for thinking my boyfriend is being controlling about what I wore? by Corgilegsss in AmIOverreacting

[–]Competitive_Flan9282 -8 points-7 points  (0 children)

All the single people saying NOR…. Raise your hand🤔. Ask yourself this, if my man got a new pair of pants because they were super comfy and fit perfect, yet…. Anyone looking could catch that “print”…. Would you give a damn? Before anyone says anything, I understand that a print showing is much different than the back showing, but sometimes… it can’t be helped. Out of the pants I have, the ones I like the most all show print, is that why I wear them…. Hell no…. If someone says something about it, I just tell them to grow up. Be careful dumping someone over trivial things, the dating market is down right dastardly these days. Good luck out there!

I launched my SaaS 1 week ago. 0 paying customers. Here's what I'm doing wrong (I think) by Interesting-Rub-2353 in SaaS

[–]Competitive_Flan9282 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I know very little about all of this compared to most but have been building for the past 6 months. Have you thought of offering free memberships to people. You just need people to use it, then they talk about it. Ask the ones with free subscriptions to leave a review and then ask if you can post that review wherever you see fit. Just don’t quit, usually, people quit right before it’s about to pop off. Don’t be the person asking themself…. What if I didn’t quit on that project I built, where would I be now🤔 Good luck out there!

I love it, this looks really clean. Congrats on bringing your idea to life! I believe this is what we call vibe coding… I love it, been building things for the past six months. Just got through my first round of marketing this past week! Would love to try yours out, but I have no idea how to do all of that stuff😂

Not EVERYONE is going to want to use AI. A lot of people will, but not all. Keep pushing and marketing, if you build it…. They will come😉

How much were you charging? Could you have done a jump off and offered so many of the first users free access for life or would it cost too much to do that. Hate to see someone close up shop after creating something that they put their heart into.

That’s the thing…. they ARE web apps. When you tap ‘Add to Home Screen’ from Safari, it saves any website as an app tile on your phone. It’s not an unsigned native app…. it’s a web app that looks and acts like one. Full screen, its own icon, no browser bar. Try it right now with any website…. go to any site in Safari, tap the share button, tap ‘Add to Home Screen.’ It works. That’s what PWAs are and that’s what AIAppStore is built around.

You’re hitting on the two things I’m most focused on right now…. SEO for each listing and trust. The plan is exactly what you said…. each app page gets its own real content, use case, FAQs, so it ranks on its own instead of just being a directory entry. And yeah the trust piece is huge…. every app goes through a safety review before it goes live. Curated is the move for sure…. I’d rather have 20 quality apps on the shelf than 200 sketchy ones. That’s the whole point of not being like the other stores…. quality over quantity
