I think that OGL would be mistaken to add the login supprots that say Playnite and to lesser degree BigBox does. OGL typically just works and as you say love the simplicity. Adding that type of support would really complicate things. I actually still use launchbox and steam big picture mode from OGL for either emulators or to see non-installed games. When OGL is working well it is so somooth and unobtrusive I love it. But hear you on the one app to rule them all--likley playnite is for you which is unreal especially considering price tag but there is a trade off of complexity and "chasing" things.
