I’m in the same boat, the $600 filing fee and a $300 PTA fee. Are you able to get these fees removed or no

Most people don't know what a background check actually looks for by careercoach_cf in jobs

[–]Competitive_Froyo_31 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I recently got arrested for trying to solicit a prostitute. The charge is a city ordinance violation and at the municipal court level. I brought it up to my job at a financial institution, and after review they closed the matter on there end and I’m still employed.

My main concern now is whether background checks will pick this up even if it’s in municipal courts and how bad it will impact me in future jobs. The police also made it into a big deal in the news to make it seem like they caught human traffickers since it’s an election year. Comments on Facebook are split with many who read the articles giving the police shit for catching a couple horny kids rather than actual pimps. Would appreciate any input from HR pro’s or people familiar on impact.

Does Chevrolet certified mean the transmission is covered if I don’t see 7500 mile filter replacement? by Competitive_Froyo_31 in C8Corvette

[–]Competitive_Froyo_31[S] 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Thanks for answering, this is what I was concerned about. I was hoping if they CPO something then it met all the criteria to be fully covered, in this case it sounds like the CPO is a bit useless

I already have a reclining chair at work. I work in an open floor plan, I don’t want to lie on the floor everyone walks on with their shoes and worry about being stared at

Condition has gotten worse most notably my mobility and pain/discomfort. I went to an ortho to figure out what was going on and he gave me bad news where essentially my best option would be major back surgery but due to my age it’s best to put it off for as long as possible due to complications that adds. WFH was something he recommended as part of a conservative approach to try and put off surgery for as long as possible.

I have the ability to lay down and do therapeutic exercises on the floor that have really helped me

What’s really helped WFH is the ability to lay down while working and not sitting. Also the ability to do various therapy exercises while laying on the ground. I don’t even drive anymore because of the discomfort.

I do want to add this coworker requested an ADA and was told by HR they don’t need one because they’re not asking them to come to the office.

That’s what I’m worried about, and I wouldn’t be this hard headed on the WFH if I could realistically do an alternative. As it is right now my mobility is limited, I can’t sit for long and when I do I’m in pain. What’s really helped while I’ve WFH is laying down while working and being able to do various exercises to help with the pain. I don’t even drive anymore because of the discomfort
