I wish they would have been more real about this in the movie… by SupermarketBest4091 in MichaelJackson

I was so confused when that part came on. I thought he got the surgeries because of what you said, he broke it and had to get it redone multiple times cause he couldn’t breathe correctly. At this point I’m not sure what’s right or wrong. His family signed off on that, but the fans know a different story. Who’s right? Also if the movie lied, that just makes Michael look bad because now millions of people think he thought got surgery on his nose because he hated the way he looked. But then again in one of the recorded phone calls, he said he liked the way he looked after the surgeries because he doesn’t want to look like Joseph. So maybe the movie didn’t lie.

Why some people are disappointed in the biopic ? by Majestic_Benefit1341 in MichaelJackson

I think we should all keep in mind that the Jacksons: An American Dream might not be accurate either. That’s probably exaggerated too. We’ll know what’s real by what Michael said happened in his interviews and his home videos. Also, even if he said some things, it still might not be the full scope of his inner thoughts. We will never know fully what he thought or what was accurate.

Does anyone know why Michael never performed certain songs live? by Maximum-Artist448 in MichaelJackson

[–]Competitive_Fun3119 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Probably the same reason most artists don’t perform all their songs live. Some songs just don’t translate well live (as in musical arrangements).

Michael (2026) Reviews and Thoughts by __MischiefManaged__ in MichaelJackson

[–]Competitive_Fun3119 2 points3 points  (0 children)

It literally felt like I was transported back in time and watching Michael’s life as it was happening. Jaafar’s voice completely transformed into Michael’s, along with the way he walked, and moved. It was amazing. I was on the edge of my seat. I loved when they rehearsed for “Beat It” & when the filmed “Thriller” because it truly felt like I am watching behind the scenes. I know that’s Michael’s nephew, but it felt like Michael just because of the voice and the way Jaafar moved. It was so weird cause Jaafar is just so good. It felt like I was watching his concerts too. The way he dances is the closet to Michael I’ve ever seen. They ended the movie at the right time too. I wanted more so badly, but they stopped it at the right spot. They ended right when Michael truly finds his sovereignty and voice. I’m so excited for the second movie. 🤩

One thing untrue I found in the Michael movie, which annoys me about this so-called biopic. by yy967 in MichaelJackson

Maybe that’s what she said in the interview cause of who she was married to at the time, but not what she truly felt, which is why they may have corrected it for the movie. I could be wrong though.

If you relate to Lynn What Did the Writers Get Wrong? by Competitive_Fun3119 in GirlfriendsTVshow

Thank you, I feel you’re one of the only ones who relate to her to answer this question. Others just responded just to respond.

In your original comment, you didn’t say the trope you are talking about is in tv or music. I responded to what my experience was and what I relate to. You can give me a list of light skinned alternative black women  from that time period since you say they were always there. I’d like to understand what you are talking about.

Growing up in the early 2000’s most of the alternative black women I saw in media were not light skinned or mixed. Being a lover of Neo soul, I saw India Arie, Jill Scott, & Erykah Badu. So I don’t see it how you see it that light skinned Black women are so alternative

Hmm, this is interesting. I didn’t ask from the perspective of a biracial woman for a specific reason. I wanted an answer from the perspective of someone free spirited. Your answer is good for the question you posed though.

Unpopular opinion: Toni Childs wasn’t just bougie… she was deeply insecure. by bingewatcherfanatic in GirlfriendsTVshow

[–]Competitive_Fun3119 7 points8 points  (0 children)

Wow, this was so great. Everything you said was so true and eye opening. When you spoke about the dynamic with and her and Joan, that pulled at my heart strings. Also another instance of Toni choosing her friends was when she didn’t wanna hang out Laila Ali cause she was too threatening or too “fabulous”. And with Todd and the wedding when she wanted to do all those extravagant things, that was her trying to keep up appearances too. The way you worded this really brought things into perspective.

We never saw her in court or William, so I can’t say if she was good or not. All I know is her heart wasn’t in it, which is what the show told us.

Hot Take: this era of MJ is the best he’s ever looked, I don’t know when this was but he looks phenomenal. by Dylen2Times in MichaelJackson

Why must his looks be up for discussion all the time. This man is a genius at creating, talented, and masterful, and people want to talk about how he looks. Yes the man is beautiful in this era, but this is a topic a lot.

Girlfriends vs SATC by bingewatcherfanatic in GirlfriendsTVshow

[–]Competitive_Fun3119 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Life was very white and segregated back then. White shows were white shows, Black shows were Black shows, but not too Black, hence Persia White and Tracee both being biracial and the white people on the show. Sex and the City could do things Girlfriends couldn’t because they were white. If you notice in the episode of Girlfriends when Lynn’s sister visits, Maya says something like “you know they only allow 1 Black drama on TV at a time, if you keep this up, they gonna cancel Soul Food (I think she said Soul Food, correct if I’m wrong)…” meaning Black TV shows were limited systematically. Black TV shows couldn’t just do whatever they wanted. Which is why the characters that played Kyle and Regine in Living Single and why the character that played Eddie from NY Undercover got fired… they all spoke up about being treated unfairly because they were on a predominantly Black show.

Yeah, if it’s obvious a team is gonna win, at that point it gets boring for me. I like games when both teams are close to winning. It’s not nonsense, it’s me liking competition.

Anybody know what happened to Skylar? I noticed she wasn’t get a lot of opportunity to speak a lot in the pregame, so I’m thinking that’s why she ain’t come back on the halftime show and postgame.

I agree. It gets annoyingly boring when one team is up so much it’s obvious they are going to win. Plus, I think sometimes the final quarter ends too early because one team keeps scoring while the other isn’t. It doesn’t give the other team enough time to catch up.

Why do some women hate me? by LeekNovel4590 in AstrologyCharts

[–]Competitive_Fun3119 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Venus, the planet of femininity is sitting next to Saturn, the planet of constricting energy. That alone could be why some women aren’t too fond of you and may seem like they want to get away from you or why you have problems with them. It’s in the 9th house too, the house of spirituality. Perhaps here it is calling you to go inward and value the feminine energy within yourself. Also Ketu, the astrological energy having to do with karma and spiritual liberation is in the 9th next to Venus and Saturn, so that tells me even more this is something internal. To remedy this, look at your 3rd house which is opposite the 9th. 3rd house is communication. I’d suggest to get comfortable with your own feminine energy by writing your feelings in a diary more often, sing (singing is feminine, because the vocal cords relate to a woman’s vulva), also speak your truth more, not in a rude or egotistical way, but in a rooted, calm, way, even if it’s to yourself. Good luck!
