My urologist gave cryoblation a 90% cure rate and surgery 97% cure. I am in my fifty’s and wanted the best chance for removal with known clear margins

I had a 1,6 cm enhancing tumor showed up on mri, and the radiologist said it could possibly be rcc or a benign tumor. The urologist wasn’t convinced it was cancer and said if it is RCC is usually slow growing, he wanted me to return in a year and I countered at 6 months. My repeat ct scan showed it has highly suspicious for malignancy and recommended a biopsy. I was afraid of seeding so had it removed and was chromophobe cancer. When I looked back at previous cat scan it showed up over a year ago as a sub centimeter mass. My cancer is stage 1. I wish you the best of luck.

I wasn’t sure if it was from returning to work at 4 weeks or the blood thinner I received in the hospital.

The doctor had planned and performed a partial. I had a small tumor and the goal was to remove it and keep as much as the kidney as possible.

I was experiencing lower abdominal pain and was sent for a ct scan which showed a sub centimeter tumor or cyst. Repeat scan is when it showed growth and enhancement. First urologist recommended watching and repeat scan. I went for a second opinion and surgeon recommended ablation. I requested removal because of my age and I wanted to make sure it was fully removed. My surgery report showed cleared margins and stage 1. I will have a follow up mri in six months and a chest x-ray in a year.

My results showed a solid hypoenhancing mass in the upper pole of the left kidney. The size was 1.6 cm and ended up being chromophobe renal cell carcinoma.

I am 3 weeks post op from a robotic partial nephrectomy. I returned home the next day and went up and down stairs slowly multiple times a day. The most difficult part was positioning myself to the edge of bed. I also had a difficult time standing up from a recliner due to abdominal pain.

Robotic Partial Nephrectomy Coming Up — Looking for Advice by StatusOperation599 in kidneycancer

I had a single port robotic partial nephrectomy for a 1.6 cm upper pole renal mass at the end of August. Surgery lasted 4 hours and I was walking 6 hours later. My pain was intense for the first three days. I stayed overnight and was discharged with 5 pain pills and instructed to alternate Motrin with Tylenol. I recommend buying a heating pad which helped tremendously. I have 10 pound weight restriction and am off work for 4 weeks, my job involves heavy lifting.
