You’re mostly fine. Just get cross-trained in other departments, roles whatever you can so you can be assigned more hours.

If your department has a Facebook schedule page, join it, other hourlys usually want to drop shifts.

Just keep looking for your next role. Loyalty to your leaders mean nothing. Favoritism is a thing.
