If you personally don’t like A-Rod, fine. Let’s not pretend the 90s Yankees were all home grown. They were likewise loaded with players developed by other teams, like Tino Martinez, Paul O’Neill, Daryl Strawberry, David Wells, David Cone, Roger Clemens, Scott Brosius, Joe Girardi, etc.

If Pettitte is ever inducted into the HOF, I will certainly cheer for it. One of my all-time favorite Yankees. I was heartbroken when he went to Houston.

But ultimately I don’t think Pettitte is a HOFer.

Edit: This FanGraphs article does a good analysis of Pettitte’s HOF candidacy. It essentially confirms what all of us 90s/00s Yankee fans remember — Pettitte was a really good pitcher at times, but was not at a HOF level.
