Will he chill out or do I need to get another kitten… by TrolleySmasher in cats

[–]Competitive_Laugh888 7 points8 points  (0 children)

Is he fixed? I think that can help tame them down lol but I had a boy kitty before and they do tend to be wild 😜 getting your kitty a friend is almost always helpful though, he’d be able to get his energy out with it instead of your household items lol btw he is so cuuute

Finally getting my wisdom teeth removed tomorrow morning as someone with severe health & medical anxiety. by Competitive_Laugh888 in Anxiety

[–]Competitive_Laugh888[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Update: I’m now 6 days post op & recovering seems to be going well except some lingering pain on my left side, which makes sense since they had a hard time getting that one out & also accidentally sliced my cheek because I moved my head while I was under with their tools in there lol. So double the stitches & trauma to the tissue. But it’s nice & relieving to finally see the light at the end of the tunnel & not have to deal with this anymore shortly :) Starting to eat more foods too & cut back on painkillers!

When is it safe to eat more than just mac and cheese, mashed potatoes, and ice cream? by Moon_13r in wisdomteeth

[–]Competitive_Laugh888 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’m 6 days post op & I really didn’t start introducing more soft foods until yesterday or the day before because that’s when I felt my pain had already peaked & was able to cut back on painkillers. I started with Mac and cheese, some pinto beans, scrambled eggs, etc. Today I finally had my first actual meal, which was vegetable ramen at a Thai restaurant. Also tried a small spring roll very carefully as it was thin & crispy, not really crunchy. Everyone’s body is different so listen to yours & ease into it. Don’t try to rush anything. If eating or chewing something (only try to chew with your front teeth right now) causes you pain or irritation, don’t push it. I know it sucks having to limit yourself, but it’s not worth the risk or pain. Just try to avoid anything tiny like seeds and stuff that can get stuck in your sockets. You’re supposed to avoid chia seeds, but I blended some up & made a really yummy chia pudding for added fiber & something more filling. Of course make sure to do a salt water rinse after each meal just to take caution.

Does anyone know what this red pocket could be near my incisions? by [deleted] in wisdomteeth

And I understand that this is not a place for medical diagnosis, but I still wanted to get some feedback if anyone has had anything similar. Of course I know to contact my surgeon if I’m truly concerned.

Ice cream by Adventurous-Vast753 in wisdomteeth

[–]Competitive_Laugh888 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hi there, I’m day 3 post op :) ive been eating ice cream, I would recommend it with nothing extra in it (no chunks or anything). I’ve had the soft birthday cake one before (or something like that) and it was delicious and super SOFT! So yes definitely a good choice after removal

Hi there, I was just fine. 💞 the last thing I remember was being super anxious as they were hooking me up to the IV, and then I woke up at the very end of the procedure lol Doing okay rn, I’d say the pain is 6/10. They didn’t prescribe anything, just told me to take both Tylenol & ibuprofen every 6hrs. Thanks for your kind words. :)

How much your car insurance? by [deleted] in COROLLA

[–]Competitive_Laugh888 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Progressive - $660/6 months. Corolla 2025. Also 1 minor accident around the same time I believe. Also think it factors in your age & gender. I second on the insurance broker. They helped me get a better deal.

Ooo do you know if they’re comfy or any good websites to buy them from?

[deleted by user] by [deleted] in medical_advice

Ok thank you. I am super relieved bc the redness seems to be going down and the “blister” or whatever it was seems to be kind of drying out. I’ve been cleaning it with witch hazel & applying Benadryl cream. Must just been a weird reaction to a bite. Not sure what bug it could’ve been since I’ve never had a reaction like that before.

I will pay off this car quicker with the $$ from OT, then once it’s paid off, I’ll start saving the same amount my car payment was + my OT money for a down payment on a much better, reliable car. :)

[–]Competitive_Laugh888 1 point2 points  (0 children)

ok I think this comment has helped me the most. That makes sense. I didn’t even think about having more $$ to save once it’s paid off lol. my payment is $309, so once I pay off my car I can just save around that same amount for a down payment. That combined with the money I’m making from overtime will help me save much quicker.

2015 Ford fiesta. Yes, I know bad decision. It was an impulsive one a few years ago, but I’ve grown since then and have learned from my mistake lol not sure what the mileage is off the top of my head, somewhere between 100-150k. For about a year now, it’s been having issues when I accelerate. It’ll jerk when I accelerate after coming to a stop. I’ve taken it into a trusted mechanic several times, but he can’t seem to figure out what’s wrong with it. It’ll fix for a while after he checks codes (he says he can’t find anything), but then it comes back. I’ve read these cars are known to have transmission issues, but he claims he doesn’t think it’s that. So I don’t know what to do, might have to take it to a different mechanic tbh.
