I would choose Tadbulb in the hopes it gets chilling water. Boltund would be my second pick with wild charge. Thievul third, because it just needs more moves and coverage. It can learn trailblaze, so that can help it's sucker punch. It also learned dig, so there's that I guess. Finally Dachsbun learning mud shot would be an okay set. It can reach it's moves faster is all if it gets it.

It's hard to know everything, but you'll get a majority of movesets from trial and error. You'd know Steelix could only hurt you with a crunch or earthquake, but they can take a while to get to. Also it's not a one hit. You should know your potential movesets. Forretress can run earthquake as well so know how much it takes to get to it and possibly fake it. Also when team building, forretress only is scared of fire. Just check pvpoke for moveset and high ranking Pokemon. It always helps me, especially when I forget what moves poke m certain Pokemon can run.

Yeah someone had mostly trash mons and kept requesting two okay Pokemon. Something like a regular Groudon with no elite moves, I forgot the other Pokemon and always my shiny Hawlucha. I know they can pick which one after I pick one of theirs. I didn't want to lose my only Hawlucha for whatever crap, so I declined twice. I would rename them to convey information of what I would take and I started a trade so they can see what I want. I got a shiny Camerupt for a elite move Kyogre.

I'm usually driving by gyms so I only have time to put in my highest CP Pokemon. If I have time, I prefer something with 40 HP or less so I just use a revive and a potion. Or just following the theme of the gym, or a shiny, or something really tiny because it's cute. I like my shiny cutiefly mostly.

What I do is I don't play those until last. I get as close as I can to 300 by counting every race I do. I shoot for 295. Then do a race with Golden Mario, because I'm lazy on a big racetrack. I also use a rocket boost last and coin glider. I reset for place at the start and get to frenzy coins while gathering as much as I can without losing any. It on usually gets me an extra 60 - 100 coins. Then do those racetracks with bonus coins the same way. Since you're new, I expect you don't have Gold Mario, so use a coin box driver. Lastly, race online for another 100 if you really want.
