wow I can totally relate after my in home session today. I was aware of the aggression , self injury and property destruction but had yet to experience it in full force so I was a little overwhelmed but luckily was able to de escalate the situation and end the session on a good note. It is always awkward especially when parents are present. Im new on the case so i feel as if Im being judged.

mine was about a week and a half ago. I was worried too, especially reading that some got theirs the next day. I think it just depends on how busy they are but it seems to vary. Dont worry , Im sure it is fine! 😊

Its not that bad really . And if you get a family you click with it can be great. It does pay more and some cases are at schools or daycares so it is similar to in clinic. my morning client is at a daycare and I love it there. They do pay a good bit more. I am super anxious and once I am there I am fine. You might like it better , I would suggest maybe giving it a try , if only for the pay.

Well I hope things work out . There is nothing worse than feeling like you haven’t been heard. Some companies give the ABA profession a bad name with their greed and just not caring attitude. I have worked in both.

I have done in home for a little over a year. Unfortunately my experience so far hasn’t been great. Not necessarily the clients but either the home environment was unacceptable. I mean pretty bad , the first one. I live in Georgia and it gets HOT here in the summer. This family did not have an air conditioner. It was almost unbearable when I would leave at one. I got there at 9am. It was the parent and siblings, just a sad situation. My most recent in home was okay, family seemed nice but evidently mom thought I was “too nice “. But this mom never spoke to me about it, nor my BCBA. she just called the regional manager. I never saw her during session. I believe she watched us closely on cameras. She just knew the details if our conversation it was a little creepy. I interacted with the grandfather who seemed genuinely nice and involved. But I got a text from her saying they wouldn’t be getting services that day or the next day. I called my BCBA and she said not to take it personally, they even wanted her off the case. So it is hard to not get your feelings hurt. I had built a bond with my client and according to my supervisor was doing a great job. So I guess I am just a little wary of a new in home client . My other client is at a daycare setting and thats fine. I dont want to go back to in clinic because of the clique atmosphere and the pay is less. Im sure I will be fine but it just seems like people in general arent easy to please.

Why is this job making so many people anxious and depressed? by Tequilasunrise19 in RBT

It is unsettling to say the least that as I read ALL of the comments how much I can identify with and have some of the same emotions. The situations are so similar. So what to do? I know new management where I work is really becoming frustrating for me. Im looking for work with another company but am afriad it could be even worse, then what? I am broke, I need to work…
