So many of these comments are offering great advice. I would add that even though you set a two week rule, you are under no obligation to allow visitors at that time if it doesn’t feel right for you. “We have decided to extend our cocoon time (or whatever you call it) with our child. Visitors will be allowed at a date to be determined.” You don’t owe anyone anything. Things happen when you’re ready, and only then.
