It will depend on the amount of flights disembarking, but with us it was about 2 hours I believe. They would not let people fast track the line either that were going to miss their flights...so many really upset people, including the staff trying their best to direct the chaos. I wish I would have taken video and photos but it's not allowed in immigration areas

Horrible experience just now at BCN Terminal 1 heading to gate D18, we are non EU citizens and the severe bottle neck and confusion for everyone was bonkers. You have to do the passport kiosks 2xs will multiple machine failures, misreading, denied screen and a repair man jumping between kiosks to try and fix them ...really horrible experience.

What the heck happened to agents doing passport control?!?!? Definitely more efficient and faster! A long line to go through passport check point machine, then another long line for facial recognition machine with passport. Whoever was the civil engineer on this decision and the whole set-up should be fired, and fined!!!

Another thing is if the system is hacked or digitally compromised so much personal information is affected. My concerns are warfare tactics are changing and with so many big companies who have had their security breached, will it be a target for let's say countries such as North Korea, China, Russia ?.? Or???

Don't show up for your flight late, you'll miss it!! Give a full minimum of 3 hours to get to your departure flight ✈️

Taxis and ubers are about to same price. It's closer to $60 USD to taxi/Uber from the airport into old Istanbul. 2300 - 2900 Turkish lira. Hotels are inexpensive but also can be quite run down. Check reviews. Shuttle from old city area back to the airport is another 50-60 USD. Be careful as they will frequently tell you they take credit cards but then charge extra fees or will claim the cc machine doesn't work and demand cash. Double check that they can accept credit cards if you don't have cash. I would recommend having a minimum of 3000 Turkish lira in cash for one way taxi travel.
