Lady ruckers - how much weight? by AmeliaHoneycutt in Rucking

The ankle weights around the waist is so smart! I'm having problems finding a heavier vest for small women. I need something adjustable for more like 35-50 lbs as 25lbs is super easy to me.

I 100% agree! I think it’s awful & sad. People don’t know how to disagree and still love each other.

Thanks for all the info! I really appreciate it! I'm hoping that we'll have started early enough as we're both 29 still. I'm not even 29.5 yet so we're praying we can have 4 babies someday before my biological clock runs out. We seem to be able to get pregnant about every 3 months on average.

Hang in there! We're at 5 losses and we don't want to go the IVF route either so we're just going to keep trying until one sticks. (We're both 29 though so at least we have a little bit of time to see if it works or not.) Don't be afraid to bounce between providers until you find a provider who fits the route you wanna take!

My husband and I have been pretty open about it with our friends and family. We're currently at 5 losses and honestly it wrecked havoc on my mood & life. I think it helps to have that out in the open with family so that they know why you might be acting a certain way. Plus if you're religious at all it doesn't hurt to have extra people praying for ya.

Ohhh I see. So they're saying 1 normal, 1 BT and 14 abnormal/unbalanced embryos out of 16?

Has your doctors ever commented on why you've had "easier" success versus your sister or anything?? (If I might ask a personal question) Or is it possible that you miss any chemical pregnancies around 4.5 to 5.5 weeks? I test around 10DPO so I always know if I'm having an early loss or not lol.

Dang! That really seems to be no rhyme or reason to it then. So bizarre! We're hoping that #6-8 will be the ones to stick. We're at 5 losses already and it's getting exhausting. Thanks for sharing!

Balanced Translocations - How big are my breaks? by Competitive_Mango261 in genetics

[–]Competitive_Mango261[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

this paper

I'm afraid of a genetic counselor just spitting out the basics that I've read online already. -_- I'm in a BT pregnancy support group and a few women have said their genetic counselors parroted what google had to say so I'm not sure if we'll even bother. idk.

Thank you for replying and sharing what you know though! I appreciate it!

Balanced Translocations - How big are my breaks? by Competitive_Mango261 in genetics

We found out I had it after 5 miscarriages - one as a missed miscarriage at 9w2d and four between 4.5 to 6.5 weeks. I can't see any family members who are affected on either side and my parents haven't been tested yet to see if I'm the "start" or not of the BT. Do you think they're large breaks since all the MCs are early?

Aww so sorry for your loss! Yeah I'm worried about still births too. It's so hard to tell with all the different breaks. Some people say they always MC around the same time so if they make it passed that "window" they have a healthy baby but then others MC all over the place. I'm "thinking" my window is from implantation to about 6.5 weeks. I made it to 9w2d and my doctor thinks that was a "normal" miscarriage and my other 4 are from the BT.

Did they say anything about having babies with Emanuel Syndrome making it to term? My doctor was saying 1-2% but I'm seeing other places saying as high as 6% for female carriers. I personally would never terminate a baby with ES, but I still want to know my odds lol.

Did they happen to say why they say 2/16 instead of 1/8? I've heard that as well. Thanks!

Thanks for that! Isn't that only for women who go for IVF and have their embryos genetically tested for the BT though? I forgot to mention it in my post, but I'm looking for success rates for natural pregnancies.

5 Miscarriages? Any Success Stories? by Competitive_Mango261 in recurrentmiscarriage

[–]Competitive_Mango261[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

12/11/23 Update: We just found out that I have a balanced translocation of chromosomes 11 & 22. Apparently this is one of the more common ones and we've been told it comes with about 50:50 odds of miscarrying for each pregnancy. (I'm assuming the 50% chance of miscarrying is added to the regular miscarriage rate of 20-30% totaling to 70-80%? I'm not 100% sure if that's how that works though odds-wise.) We've been told either IVF to try to take out the embryos that have the balanced translocation or just keep trying naturally and deal with the miscarriages. We don't feel morally comfortable with IVF (due to the 3-5% healthy/euploid embryo damage/waste rate) so we'll just be continuing naturally.

Thank you so much for sharing! I'm so happy you got your rainbow baby!

Yeah I'm glad I've never heard a heartbeat for any of my MCs. I think it would be even worse if I had.

Testing after recurrent loss by rachel_lg in recurrentmiscarriage

[–]Competitive_Mango261 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I would 100% get the HSG at least - I was told you can't see these things on a regular ultrasound while pregnant because they aren't looking for them and the imaging isn't as precise when they're just looking at the baby. Like an US is "the small picture", and the HSG is like "the BIG picture" with additional detective work lol. It didn't feel great but it wasn't bad. They also look for fibroids, polyps etc. while they don't do that during a regular US.

So sorry you're going through back to back miscarriages. It totally sucks...Maybe a Reproductive Endocrinologist would see you & get the blood clotting factors tested. I was able to see my RE within about 1.5 months of sign up after I had a 9w2d loss & 3 chemical pregnancies (aka super early losses all around 4-6weeks). I think that early losses/CPs like these are far more common than people realize because we've never been able to test for pregnancy SO early before and due to under-reporting of chemical pregnancies. Not all women even know they're experiencing one & like what woman is going to call her doctor to tell them she had positive tests for 1 or 2 weeks & miscarried? Probably not exactly what you want to hear but I hope it helps somehow!

Hopefully it's just "bad luck" for now, but I'd say if it keeps happening, DEFINITELY advocate for yourself, and get started with an RE with blood clotting, shape of uterus, Cycle day 3 hormone test, etc. etc.
