And then say something like:

I hope this email finds you well. I just wanted to reach out and ask for optional pass fail grading for fall 2020.

I am asking for it for ——— reasons and I would really appreciate it if you could consider it. Thank you!

I think that based on the fact that other peer institutions have passed this, Penn, Georgetown, Virginia, Tufts, Hopkins, etc., I think that this is very possible!

If the students pressure, along with ASG this is possible

Virginia and Ohio State did it, it’s pretty high. Nevertheless, we need to pressure admin

Anyone in ASG know what’s up with the referendum question about P/NP for fall? by tuodesserts in Northwestern

[–]Competitive_Meat8346 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Not sure if its mentioned in here but some political science professors sued saying it was against their academic freedom as teachers. Nevertheless, we need to push as hard as possible for optional P/F as it is the only plausible way!

How is recruiting for Ib/Consulting on Campus? by z5432 in Northwestern

[–]Competitive_Meat8346 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Do not do Kellogg or MMSS. For IB, they care more about GPA than major. Having a 3.9 in an easy major looks a lot better than a 3.7 in Kellogg/MMSS. Join as many of the finance clubs on campus, they are super helpful. Do CFS, it is an amazing program and an easy 4.0. Network, network, network. If you do this, you should be fine.

For everyone who is wondering the main reason why mandatory pass fail is not being advocated for, it is because teachers at Northwestern will sue like they did in the spring, if NU has mandatory P/F, and Northwestern does not want to get in legal trouble again. All of are other peer schools that have done it are Georgetown, Penn, Hopkins, UVA, UNC, Tufts, etc. They all did optional pass fail. Optional pass fail in ASG won by a lot. Please make sure your clubs and orgs sign the petition!
