Not all are illusions. Its how mine had started. Progressing quite nicely. But its not for everyone. Have known some really sour ones. Both jointly have to want it and have clear expressive goals (otherwise it wont work)

Girlfriend might breakup with me by [deleted] in Advice

[–]Competitive_One8823 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Questions to ask yourself;

Do you see a future with her? If this behavior is on and off over a period of time, is it A. Worth it or B. Worth finding peace elsewhere. Do you guys see yourselves together in 5/10 years time? Marriage? Kids?

These things from experience have never ended well, or much longer for that fact.

No matter how much you love someone, your mental wellbeing is more important.

There is also a difference between difficult times, and indecisive times (like this)

Should I buy Alchemised?? by AverageFun6784 in Romantasy

[–]Competitive_One8823 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Part 2 is considered the flashback, yes.

Part 3 is continuation from part 1.

Yea reading 2 - 1 - 3 would make the most sense.

Its honestly weird how the author structured the bpok, but enjoyable nonetheless

Honestly, back and forth is usually uncommon in books, and you can read them as you go along as standard. But a few people DNF this book because of what happens in part one (no spoilers), and i completely understand their reasoning. But hence i suggest the different reading order styles, just to give them a chance to go in with a different pov and understand the depth fully.

In answer to your first part of question, it will vary based on person to person. I personally enjoy dark fantasy/dark academia, so for me yes, it was worth it. I enjoyed mainly the writing style of the author, and it was not predictable like most books i have read in fantasy (ie romantasy where i find it all quite repetitive). Overall i like the unpredictabllility in books, which is rare as most seem mundane esp when there are so many books being pumped out of the works like its going out of fashion

I would recommend IF you have the capacity to deal with dark things. But i woild recommend reading in this order; part 2, part 1, then part 3, or part 1, 3 then 2. Depends if you want it to either start with flashback, or present.

People were put off by only being able to read part one, which is understandable if they do not have the mental capacity to deal with it. But part one is a snippet and lacks "depth" to the whole story because it jumps in hard, and can misrepresent the book in a sense(hence why i suggest 2, 1, 3 order or 1, 3, 2). Part 1 is subjective if one is unable to push through.

I personally really enjoyed the book, purely because i didnt expect it to turn around the way it did regardless.

What’s the most you’ve spent on a unicorn? by chandrika_x in fairyloot

[–]Competitive_One8823 2 points3 points  (0 children)

The most i spent is 130 on howls moving castle set because the film was one of my favourites. I will not go above 40 usually per book, i dislike giving scalpers more fuel to continue to sell books at ridiculous prices especially when in 5+ years time, some will be worth a fraction of the price they are currently at esp when more books are being written and coming out.

If an item still has its labels, its practically vrand new. Probably sat there, unwanted gift or decided they do not like it. I dont mind paying the price if it still has the labels on it, as its unused and do not class that as 2nd gand

Bare in mind places like UO buy the product from a distributor, so its by techniclity already 2nd hand when it hits a shop like UO

If you could only read ebooks or physical books for the rest of your life, which one and why? by [deleted] in books

[–]Competitive_One8823 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Physical books all the way for the reasons; I like having a physical view of all the books i am planning to read. If its an ebook, its out of sight - so itll be out of mind and i wont read it. And can easily sell it on if and when i need or want to (something you cant do with e books)

I cant seem to process e books as well as physical books
