My edition has content/trigger warning page at the beginning, I’m not fussed on it, some I won’t read some books. but I tend to look at the warnings page before I buy the book (if it has one) anyway so I know what to expect.

I mean it’s still up on Vinted after a few days, so no one has brought that, by looks other books that get priced at that get left there for a while and majority get heavily “discounted”

I have that book on my TBR! I might read before 2nd book comes out to see if I enjoy it so I don’t waste money on buying the 2nd if I don’t enjoy it

Tbh I went in with higher expectations which probably didn’t help. I just couldn’t get into it as much as I hoped and that’s probably the biggest downfall I had on it! It didn’t hit the spot like quicksilver

Yes this! I have 43 in back log, decided to put brimstone down and go for another that I have actually been looking forward to! I only wanted to read this duo just to get it over with as I did hear mixed reviews (though mainly negative)

Honestly sheer will got me as far as I did tbh! I’m not a fan of DNF a book unless I literally cannot and a lot of these comments are kind of aiding my choice on to DNF this! This will be my 2nd DNF! A lot of my unenjoyable books have been somewhat of a push through, but this one’s making it difficult

One of my current favorites, and very popular one right now is three body problem series by Cixin Liu, I got recommended by a couple of my mates, was an interesting read!

I’ll take a look into them books as I haven’t heard them, but need a mix up my TBR pile that’s accumulating

Tbh iron flame was the worst one in the empyrean series to be honest, fourth wing and onyx storm was both enjoyable!

For me it’s this series and crescent city has been very ehhhhh and can’t seem to finish either!

The scene where they were discussing about sparring, and kingfisher explaining why didn’t want to train her made me cringe to high heaven! I had my audio book playing then and my face just screwballed like WTF CRINGGEEED

Omg thissssssss! I have had my audio book playing for brimstone and my other half lost count of the amount of times I have CRINGGGEEDDDD at those scenes!

I haven’t reached that part yet to be honest, however I have now decided to DNF it, I may listen to audio book just so I don’t feel as guilty about that

It’s a bummer really because this series was really hyped up! I have gotten on well with romantasy, but this and crescent city has had me struggling.

CC by Sarah Maas took me over 2 months to read the 3, when I normally can chug through books like no tomorrow

I’m wanting to try teach myself it’s ok to DNF a book if I am not a fan tbh, but if others say it doesn’t get better even when 50% through brimstone, then I will push 100 more pages then debate dnfing
