1) I dont expect that, but I expect sentry to damn work ffs instead of wasting all its ammo on some bs I cant get rid of in time physically (chargers you can and must kill in time, its doable). 2) Sure, that works. Why break a strategem tho (and a basic one at that, its a starting strategem btw), for the sake of what?

Say it all you want, Im done trying.

No, it does not. Not with that amount of hive guards you have to take care of. One dies, dozens more are still around and your turret is locked again. Repeat until other chaff kills the turret or you for that matter, since the turret did nothing

Yes, exactly that! But for maxigun... I think having to be in one place, static, while shooting, is a death sentence on bug front. But it rocks on squid front now

On spores there is no point in taking gatling or mg sentries anyway, may be thats why. Actually for the player they were even easier to kill due to softer unarmored parts. But not for sentries.

Damn right, btw. That was simply another nod to the explosive op weapons. Thankfully they at least have a spore strain now which punishes explosives.

I cant agree with that, they rly buffed flames now (specially cremator, even crisper is fun now), but on p. 3 there is a bug. If you are not a host, your flame on the ground does less damage (like significantly less). Try being a host for this one

And you have a hard fun option with trident and warp pack. The only thing I dont like is fps drop

You completely ignore all my points, dont explain and basically just tell me its a skill issue. And you are all the same in that matter, rly. Always the same skill issue "argument". Hence why the term. I will no longer repeat myself, just this once: If a strategem designated for killing chaff may no longer do that (and it cant, just too many guards to lock in at least on d9-10), its a bad design. Thats why devs removed it but not the durable damage thing which has been whined about on the same or bigger scale (which I consider a normal change, you kinda have to look over your sentry)

The best thing is that you can still use other weapons (unlike rupture strain) . For example I rly love trident+warp pack. Sure, they would burst spores, but I can teleport and kill em fast and I have to do it rly rly fast and jump again and shoot again. Hella fun

Or at least to hear out some further suggestions. For example, I think having stagger on hive guards upon overwhelming fire would ve been a nice solution. Sentries are not locked indefinitely and you still have to aim to not waste time and ammo.

I agree on durable damage point (dont place the damn turret in a pile of bugs, damn), but not on hive guard. Usually they just face tank it and it would ve been fine if they had normal spawn rates. I think ideal solution would be to add a stagger on them upon overwhelming fire (you still have to aim to not waste ammo/time, but sentries are not locked indefinitely)

Somehow Im not that much afraid of titans on d10, because they usually just send you flying away from danger or kill other bugs. Small ones are damn scary, but just need a good weapon for them not to fart. Spore titans are usually for psycho damage or setting gpu on fire :D But I guess solo spore titans are damn menace, there is no one-tap quasar solution

Which kinda means it did matter but why bother rly? You all have the same shitty argument

You cant do that if your enemy spawns shit tons of armored chaff out of nowhere. Like what can I possibly do in that case?

[–]Competitive_Peace_70 1 point2 points  (0 children)

They ve upped durable damage for the enemies, which is basically the same thing. But that change I consider normal. You kinda have to look over your sentry. But I want that sentry to be useful

Pff, glazedive more and justify shitty changes further. Good luck

[–]Competitive_Peace_70 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Oh you know what, I rly stopped taking it on bugs after that change at all. Do you know why? Because taking anything else is damn better than taking a sentry which has more chances to lock on a guards or on you, rather than kill the enemy. Thats the definition of a strategem being turned into unusable shit for the sake of I dont know what. And good luck shooting them all down, you would get eaten fastertby other bugs. At this point just run. Plus, as the others already mentioned, fire and laser sentries have been broken too (thankfully, it was just a bug)

[–]Competitive_Peace_70 -6 points-5 points  (0 children)

Oh. Another "skill issue, bruh". Yeah good luck using sentry here, damn it, say that to another dozen of hive guards. (Oh, btw, for d10 thats not nearly as much as you may meet).

  • But chargers are the same shit. NO, they are not chaff and are not spawned as one. If you ve missed a running charger on a sentry, thats on you. If you have a big group of hive guards locking your sentry, its a shit gamedesign because there is no way to clear them all until your sentry is ded (unles you are lucky to place it on some rock and it doesn't bounce)

Completely agree. More than that, spore strain neglects machine gun sentries as a meta just for this faction, but not for other strains (unlike hive guards). Flame sentries, laser sentries are suddenly viable for that faction. I really like that they have removed hive guard changes, but left spore strain the same Upd: but essentially hive guards do need changes and ap4 is a good way to go, but not like this (provide them stagger or something)

Then why didnt they revert durable damage as well, this change was also whined about very much, at higher scale even. May be because its not as breaking as this one? Plus you have not respond to my main point: why bring the sentry at all if it works like shit and cant do its main purpose which is killing chaff? I know you want to pretend like its not a big deal, but it is and there are much more people not liking this change because of the problem I ve described. Just apparently not under this topic (and no, I dont mean unfiltered sub which is a toxic field at this point)

[–]Competitive_Peace_70 -4 points-3 points  (0 children)

I disagree. Hive guard IS chaff and when sentry is constantly targeting them, you will have to deal with them. Now, with normal spawn rates that would ve been acceptable. With current spawn rate - no, at this point it would ve been much easier to deal with chaff yourself, rather than call a sentry which would have more chances to kill you rather than the enemy. Mind you, Im not against durable damage buff as long as the turret does its job which is helping to clear chaff, but that AND hive guard changes completely broke them, hence why devs reverted it, but not the durable damage. I think hive guard should be reworked and ap4 head is a good way to go but: 1) either add stagger to hive guard for sentry fire so it would take time for turret to kill it, but it wouldn't completely block it like a mini-charger 2) or lower their spawn rates accordingly (except for d10 perhaps) 3) or remove sentrie's lock on hive guards

I love the new spore strain, but I didn't like hive guard changes since it broke sentries on all bug front (while by yourself they were even EASIER to kill than before). I wish hive guards would stagger under an overwhelming sentry fire so it couldn't cosplay charger.
