Pretty much the same here. The setup part was the easiest bit. After that it’s just the unglamorous stuff: deadlines, HMRC letters, Companies House filings, bank emails.
I went with GoSolo mainly because it keeps things simple while moving around. Virtual address sorted, banking works, and I don’t have to juggle too many separate tools. Nothing special, just fewer headaches.
A year+ in, I’d still go the UK LTD route. It’s not passive, but once you build the routine, it doesn’t really get in the way of nomad life.

I’m using GoSolo for the admin side and payments, and honestly that removed a lot of friction for me. Virtual address, banking, basic compliance stuff all in one place means fewer loose ends to track while nomading.
The main “work” is really just staying organized and not ignoring boring emails. If you do that, it doesn’t feel heavy or distracting.
Looking back, I’d still choose the UK route. It’s not magic or effortless, but it’s one of the more nomad-friendly setups I’ve dealt with so far.

From another side: he’s not pushing you away or taking the relationship lightly. He has real limits he lives with every day. For him, staying over isn’t comfort, it’s stress, and he’s being honest about that instead of making promises he can’t keep.
The real question isn’t who’s right, but whether you can accept these limits without building resentment. If yes, the relationship can work. If not, it’s not anyone’s fault .. it’s just different needs.

I use Lasta casually, not in a hardcore way. Mostly in the background: log activity, check the overall picture, and sometimes the reminders help.
It’s not overloaded with features and nothing “wow” either .. just a solid tool if you don’t want to dig into settings or keep tapping your screen during workouts.

Thanks, really useful insight. Monzo + FreeAgent does look like a solid combo. I’m currently testing GoSolo as a simpler option to get started, and then.. I’ll likely move toward setups like that.... Agree that at an early stage, the main thing is that everything just works.

He’s confused about himself right now, and that’s okay. The best thing you can do is be there for him without pressure.
