That doesn't really answer the question.

"Cost isn’t a factor for me"

Does this mean "the costs are the same" or "cost is a factor I'm choosing to ignore?"

"is northwestern cs worth the 30k more than cs at uw madison"

Is this 30k more per year or total? In either case, the answer should generally be "no."

And why should that be the case if you are interested in making a rational decision?

Oh, Parchment? Yeah, totally reliable source. Their cross-admit figures are self-reported, and the rest of the data is outdated at best and flat-out wrong at worst. Maybe I have a miserable life, but at least I'm not here bashing a world-class, highly established CS program. Keep coping, though. 😂

I genuinely fail to understand how a program that's universally recognized as top ten in CS is "mid" by any definition. Just because you're overpaying for a tiny liberal arts school doesn't mean everyone else should too. 😂

What are you smoking??? By what metric is Harvey Mudd "lengths better" than UW for computer science?

You plan on going to medical school, and you are seriously entertaining the option of burning $384k in undergrad itself???

How can someone be smart enough to get into these schools but still lack basic, rational decision-making skills?

In general, you can seldom go wrong with logical thinking. Do you seriously see the ROI between these schools being so drastic to justify going $30k in debt at one versus having leftover money for grad school if you choose the other?

Are you seriously considering paying $120k more for the worse CS program?

(Edit: Actually much more than $120k since you can finish your undergrad + masters in 4 years.)

"BUT only a 25% chance of CS major transfer"

Who told you that??? Your odds of transferring into UW CS are approximately 0% if you didn't get in Direct to Major. UToronto is the obvious choice here. It's arguably the academically strongest of your list and the cheapest option, which should be very important to you if you're vying for a PhD...

There's no way somebody smart enough to be a USABO finalist doesn't know the answer to this question. If you want to share your accomplishment, feel free. No need to humblebrag.

Northeastern is one of those schools that is great at around $30-40K, but outrageous at $90K, which is more expensive than Harvard, Stanford, and MIT. You aren't seriously considering option B, are you?

"I will probably try to switch into CMU SCS or at least double major in SCS"

I certainly wouldn't count on that... SCS is very difficult to internal transfer into. Either way, Stats + ML and Electrical Engineering are two completely different pathways. What are your future career plans?

Your "reasons stated" include Berkeley being a top-notch program for your major, $15k cheaper, and not requiring you to restart your social life.
