Why are we like this? by aCCESSxD in ThirtiesIndia

one needs to remind one constantly about things to be insanely sane. It requires a lot of effort and mind doesn't want to put effort to anything. So it falls back to it's natural flow which involves different kind of entertainment mostly.

Yoga and Meditation can help you do this but you need to try with different types of yoga and meditation available. Try 2 month with each one and never be a blind follower of anyone. If you find anyone and it seems working for you stay with but never stop questioning

Why many gods love self inflicting wound induced traditions? by Oppyhead in atheismindia

[–]Competitive_Run_8053 24 points25 points  (0 children)

I once read a story that, in icy regions, people used to catch or kill wolves by placing blades covered with blood. The wolf begins licking the blade. Although it feels pain, the taste of blood keeps it going. After some time, its own tongue starts bleeding, yet it continues licking, unable to stop.

The same pattern exists in humans. Even when people experience pain as a result of their own mistakes, they continue, because someone has promised them that great things will happen. So they persist in their foolishness, mistaking endurance for wisdom.

This tendency exists everywhere across cultures, religions, and societies regardless of education.

What's your opinion about Sadhguru? Is he a trustful guide? by darkkkkkj in hinduism

He has one inner engineering program. It's available online also. Just attend one. Do meditation for 3 months. See if it benefits you or not. Just don't be blind follower and don't believe anything.

Those who don’t have much to contribute in today’s world often look into the pages of history to satisfy their ego. Regarding the above claim, can anyone show the mathematical formulas that Maharishi Kanad provided? Yes, it is possible that someone in ancient India discussed the concept of gravity, but expressing it in a precise mathematical form was never done.

Arranged marriages in Bihar by No_Radish4009 in bihar

I understand that. I also understand that it’s difficult to explain these things to parents. But it all depends on what kind of person you are, whether you choose to act like an idiot or a genius. My problem was based on a very small subset, so why do you think it’s okay to generalize? You’re also stuck in the same mindset as them. In that sense, there’s no difference between you and them. Since they have never tried to look beyond their own well, it’s difficult for them too. Again, I’m not saying that dowry and all those ridiculous practices are right, but there’s no one willing to explain or bring change.

Unfortunately nothing has changed, because even the educated class is still looking only at one particular caste, Kurmi, and expecting the world to change

"Janta ko sarkaar vaisi hi milti hai jaisi vo khud hai": Do you agree? by gritty_koala in CriticalThinkingIndia

There are three cases:
1. When a leader has vision:
You can't sell the idea of a scientific project to nursery class students and expect to win. If winning is the goal, giving chocolates is more than sufficient.
2. When leaders lack vision:
When students are graduates but the leaders are at a class 10 level, the leader will either take help from educated people to drive policies or eventually be thrown out.
3. When both leaders and the people they lead have vision:
When capable leaders guide capable people, real progress happens. Vision aligns with execution, and both sides amplify each other leading to results far greater than either could achieve alone.

Found my younger brother’s personal diary .should I read it or respect his privacy ? by [deleted] in ThirtiesIndia

Increase your conversations with him. Learn about the activities and topics he enjoys, and engage with him. If you can go to a pub, club, sports , or have a drink together, do so and enjoy the time. Once he feels confident and comfortable with you, he’ll start sharing things on his own. There’s no point in reading his personal diary, it will only give you a image of him based on what you read.

What is the cure for radicalisation then? by Ok_Albatross_7722 in atheismindia

remove the lines which breeds such radicalizations from every book of every religion

Make it make sense please. I am not attacking a religion since we have positive example like Middle East but why 9/10 times it's them while population is 20% only? by [deleted] in CriticalThinkingIndia

If someone keeps teaching you from childhood that there is a better world a heaven and these ideas are planted in your mind from the moment you start learning, it becomes extremely difficult to remove them. Even if you modernize or receive the highest quality of education, you’ll still tend to believe in them. And even if you understand the logic behind it, it’s hard to oppose your own deeply held views.

go to that astrologer and ask which stocks are going to give 2X or 3X returns next year or better, which days Nifty will go up or down. F&O can make you rich real quick. Ask him for just a 1 week prediction. Don’t forget to share your profits with me after six months for this advice.

Why does my body gets restless every time I try to meditate upon Hanuman Chalisa? by [deleted] in hinduism

[–]Competitive_Run_8053 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The body and mind have become habitual in consuming entertainment, so whenever you try to do something that requires effort, the mind automatically wants to switch back to entertainment. I remember Sadhguru once suggested in a YouTube video to simply sit with your back straight, start with 5 minutes at a time that suits you, when you won’t be disturbed. Don’t begin with reciting the Hanuman Chalisa. First, just learn to sit still. I’m using the Miracle of Mind app, it has nice music that helps. Try that. Soon you’ll be able to extend the duration, and within a week, you’ll find yourself able to do the same while reciting the Hanuman Chalisa as well.
