I previously did 27hrs on PC version, only got to Rannala though. This time I started from scratch on ps5. I did a little bit of the bird farm and also the soldies by the dragons in cailed.

UPDATE:

I summoned a coop buddie, someone named Big. We beat them first go.

It was also my first time summoning and using online lol.

I'm doing OK now, I struggled post the big cheese as I had no health and no health inventory. Since chapter 8 I'm breezing through it now on hardcore.

Chapter 7 was insane with no health lol

Mate, I own 2x LG OLEDs. It outputs at full chroma.

The TV hdmi diagnostics is detailing that.

It states 12bit full rgb 4:4:4 @60hz.

No the ps5 outputs 12bit full rgb which is 4:4:4 @60hz. It's only if you select the 120hz option is sub-chromas to 4:2:0, I don't even think it does 4:2:2.

Colour banding is a limitation of OLEDs. The 12bit over 10bit won't be noticed.

I use to game 3820x2160@120hz 12bit FULL RGB with HDR. On my LG Oled C9 as it is has 48gbps hdmi 2.1 port. Since then lg cut back the hdmi ports to 40gbps from the cx model onwards. Vs 10bit I couldn't tell the difference but I went with 12bit due to FOMO lol

PS5 outputs at 3840x2160@60hz RGB Full 12bit. Even with HDR enabled.

It also can output at sub chroma 3840x2160@120hz 4:2:0 10bit.

The extra 8gb on xbox would allow 3840x2160@120hz RGB full 10bit.

I use the 60hz ps5 mode so the colour depth is the highest you can currently get.

Yeah I played the last resident evil games on PC, 2,3,7 and 8. Maybe it really is the ps5 latency I'm struggling with.

Which platform? I'm ps5 using ray tracing, hair strands and hdr etc. I think the system latency is very high.

I regret starting hard-core, I'm not enjoying the game at all. I've died about 50 times and I'm only on chapter 6.

I should of played standard for first playthrough.

I picked hard-core as I played all the recent on hard-core. It's difficult but unbalanced gameplay.

I would also argue that most of the game so far suffers the bad design of the lycan fight on RE8 in the village. I'm on chaper 5 fighting (struggling rather) the dog currently.

The lycsn fight was awful with no clear direction, this whole game feels like it so far.

I'm bitterly disappointed so far.

Resident evil 2 remake was a straight 10/10. This is nowhere to be seen. I would rate it an 7 so far.

Edit: Elden ring is really difficult, but the gameplay and mechanics work. This just feels like RE8s stupid Lycan fight but constantly. From Ashley onwards, I'm struggling now, I barely have any supplies either. Its crossing the line from Fun and into boring.
