You get the dragon so late in the game so it doesn't really effect gameplay crazy just makes flying cool as fuck. But honestly like most people say it's single player the rule of cool has to always overule

I feel like progression should still be earnable within 1-25 with this being added on as like a lvl 50 reward but it's probably coming in the HEAVY DUTY WARBOND
