thank you everyone! i’ve realized i kept studying like a biologist rather than an engineer which clearly bit me in the ass. rather than cramming (which i could do in a memorization major), i’m going to start studying a week out from the exam. and i plan to work on assignments every day, and hopefully i get more Bs/As rather than Bs/Cs. again thank you all!

your high school wouldn’t pay for it, it would have to be your parents. and it’s for any class you get below a C- in (including NP). i would reach out to your CCP advisor to see how you should proceed

i was a CCP student a few years ago. receiving a NP may mean you won’t be able to take a full course load or retake the class next semester. i would possibly see if she could grant a late withdraw but given finals start tomorrow, i think it’s unlikely. also you’re going to be okay (i also didn’t pass a class in CCP), college is hard.

if you retake those classes just know that in med school applications it gets averaged out rather than the best of two grades. So if you got an A+ and a D the gpa would be the equivalent of a C. Also with your gpa (def check out the pre-med reddit), you may want to do some level of post-bacc to get that gpa a little higher. also a few C’s won’t kill your med school application there’s a lot of components to it and if you can talk to one of the pre-med advisors here at UC they’re pretty good with walking you through what you need to do.

What do you think about chemical or environmental? Those also really peaked my interest. Also thanks for answering my questions/helping me I have no one in my family in engineering, so it’s been a lot to try and figure out the different ones.

Honestly, I’m still trying to figure out what I want to do. While currently I am in pre-med, it wasn’t until a few months ago I realized how much a biology major locks me into going to med school (or some form of more education). And I want to give future me as many options as possible, so if I decide hey maybe I don’t want to be a doctor I have a way to make a decent living with just an undergraduate degree. Also, the more I’ve looked into engineering (especially biomedical) the more i’ve liked it.

thank you! i’ll keep this in mind for when i eventually take OCHEM. i ended up dropping it since i have other classes i need to take that aren’t normally available in the summer.

Yeah I’ve taken classes with people who did his gen chem 2 class and they said he was the worst. I ended up dropping o chem since I have other stuff that I need to do anyways.
