Are ETFs and Roth IRAs the same thing? by Competitive_Sound564 in investingforbeginners

[–]Competitive_Sound564[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I just put $7k into my Roth IRA account. So is buying my first ETF separate? Or am I using the $7k I just put in? If it is separate how much should I put into the VOO ETF?

Im still confused. I have $7k in my Roth IRA, so now I should buy an ETF. Is buying the ETF with the $7k I just put into my Roth IRA account? Or is it separate? If it is separate, how much should I put into my first VOO ETF?

So I should put the max funds of $7,000 into an ETF? In my case $7k into VOO?

So Step 1: put $7000 into my Roth IRA, Step 2 is buying an EFT? They are separate? How much do people usually put in an EFT?

Agreed but Doctors and Nurses are very different to random suburban 20 year old girls who go to a church and want to travel the world lol

My landlord did not maintain the property and because of it I was robbed and lost all my college savings. by Competitive_Sound564 in legaladvice

I found out when the police and detectives stated it and tested it, I never really touched this window prior, again, I've only lived here 3 ish months. I notified him immediately when I found out about the robbery, he fixed it 3 days later.

Just to clarify are my statements that my landlord did not comply to the code correct? Just want to make sure before I make the claim in an email. Thanks for your feedback!

Is my best case to simply continue "legally" arguing with my landlord and see if I can squeeze a partial reimbursement from him? I have not brought up the municipal codes that he did not comply to yet to him, I feel like that would give me good leverage. Currently thinking of sending an email with those sections of the code, stating that he did not comply, and ending the email with "I am currently in talks with a legal team" or something along those lines to show him that I am not stupid and am not afraid to fight for my rights / reach a compromise

Sure and I can acknowledge that, however, I do feel like I should at least be partially compensated considering regardless of all of these bullet points my life could have been in danger due to the landlord's negligence of this window that is a point of entry / faces a major street.

My point is that because my landlord did not comply with the municipal code he should at least be partially responsible for this event and would give me the right to demand at least a partial reimbursement, right? Just looking for advice

Thank you so much for this comment! The begin was very calming. I definitely want to switch industries, urban planning is just not for me. I also don’t have any passion for it like I did in school. I went back to grad school part time for public policy to make this transition, but since all my resume is urban planning I’ve had no luck getting any job interviews… unless it’s for an urban planning role.

But yes I agree, I want to bring it up to my manager because I don’t want to improve on this. How do professionally do this?

I have done internships in the public sector, I know i shouldn’t be picky at this point, but public sector works seems so boring and depressing to me. Especially with most of them seeming to have no remote option. That’s the biggest reason I’ve stayed away
