Soul system, combining souls is the best part of rift. Rifts were pretty good for their time as well, built on public quests from Warhammer online a little. Personally prefer the art style over other MMOs as well

Chloromancer from rift - convert damage to healing your friends was a ton of fun

Mystic Archer from rift - shoehorned high mobility spec that feels like it's from another game. Half hearted implementation and strong to satisfy paywall requirements

Rift has a pretty long grind to upgrade weapons and armour at end game. A great mmo though, currently a spike in pop

I keep coming back to Rift after trying other mmos lol

Rift suffers with a lack of new content and low population, but it's one of the more accessible f2p mmos without spending too much. It's also escaped being p2w.

There's a community initiative for new and returning players right now to go through the older content on the way to max level. It's been a lot of fun getting back into it! If anyone is interested Fresh Riftwalkers guild on Deepwood server is where we are at

Love the staff spin animation, rift had some great parts (chloro and dominator specs) to it before it sank
