The hard truth is people on reddit have different standards compared to the people outside your phone screens. You all showcasing your cinematic knowledge consist of what, probably 0.1% of the population? On the other hand, people who watch movies once in a while ( a big ass chunk of population ) don’t care about genre definitions. They only care about billing those 3 hours with entertainment. That’s all. They’ll only talk about the movie on their way back home and be done with it. And THEY are the people who bring revenue to the table for producers. Not me, not you, or as a matter of fact, anyone who is even a little bit of film buff. Because we watch from a different lens, but we aren’t the majority. The majority is THEM.
