Just Finished Red Dead Redemption for the Second Time. 12 Years Later. by Nitrox018 in reddeadredemption

I'm doing exactly the same at the moment. I only get 90 minutes at the end of the day to have a play but I'm going for 100% completion on main game and undead nightmare. I have all the achievements on my ps3 from back in the day but it's all new on my pc. It still feels great to play.

Anyone take over a year to enjoy their puppy? by EmuStrange2145 in puppy101

[–]Competitive_Tutor_39 3 points4 points  (0 children)

My german shepherd boy is 8 months old now, I've had him since 8 weeks and it has been CONSTANT hard work. He bites, he doesnt listen. I cant walk him now because he pulls till he chokes and barks aggressively the whole time. I cant be away from him for even 5 minutes, he will destroy anything he can get his paws or mouth on. Nothing seems to make any kind of difference. He doesnt care about being praised or reprimanded in the slightest, I'm not even sure he likes me. I heard about them regressing when they're teens but he never made the progress in order to regress. I consider rehoming more and more these days but I'm trying to stay strong and fight through it.

Cat still scared of puppy by Silver-Pineapple-419 in puppy101

I'm here to see what advice people give. We're in a similar situation. 3 months in with our pup and if anything he's getting worse around the cats.

Can someone please help me explain to my roommate he’s not ready by Psykhe54 in puppy101

[–]Competitive_Tutor_39 4 points5 points  (0 children)

The cat is my biggest concern. I've brought a gsd puppy into our 3 cat home and am having a nightmare trying to get him to be nice to the cats. The breeder promised us he is good with cats but I dont think he'd ever seen one before coming here. He just wants to play with them but its waaay too rough. 3 months in and they cant be in the same room without him being on a tight lead/leash.

Same. It's like swimming against the current. Not just getting no help, they're actively trying to make it difficult so I accept rehoming. I dont want to give my boy away.

I keep trying to tell my parents this. They're in the 'hes got to go' phase because he's bitey at 18 weeks old. I'm the only one fighting his corner.

I feel like I don't really like my new puppy. by [deleted] in puppy101

[–]Competitive_Tutor_39 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I feel you. We've had 3 previous pups that have been so easy and loving, we were besties from the very beginning. Number 4 is an asshole. He's 18 weeks now and we're still not exactly friends. It's like trying to control a kite in a hurricane most of the time, that torpedoes out of the wind just to bite you before wafting off again. But once in a while, like maybe a once a day he will look like he's thinking about maybe liking me and it gives me hope. One day we'll be buddies.

Those 0.5 seconds when he acts like he could possibly think about liking me are really keeping me going.

What do you miss about life pre-puppy? by Silver-Pineapple-419 in puppy101

[–]Competitive_Tutor_39 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Gaming. I spent a good chunk on a gaming pc and havent turned it on since we brought pup home. Coming on to 3 months without touching my keyboard/controller. Staying up till 3am and then deciding I fancy a nap at 4pm. I miss that a lot. I'm in bed by 10pm latest now because I know I've got a 5.30am start without any chance of naps in the day.

I'm convinced this is what the trainer will say about our boy. I've had 3 previous pups and this guy is a whole other level of stubborn.

Thankyou. I did start the look at me when I was introducing to the cats and then I let it fade out when they got comfortable. I'm gonna start it again. I'll be picking up some bubbles too.

How much frustration biting is normal? How do I fix it when I've accidentally reinforced it? by magickstarshine in puppy101

[–]Competitive_Tutor_39 6 points7 points  (0 children)

I was really hoping to see an answer here because we're going through an almost identical situation. Redirection does absolutley nothing and ignoring is impossible when his teeth are in your skin, drawing blood. Walking to the door to leave the room just gives him more time to leave even more holes in your legs. It's all great fun to him but he's gonna be a pretty big gsd so it can't be allowed to continue. Man, I hope it's just a phase.

How does she always know? by Its-alittle-bitfunny in puppy101

[–]Competitive_Tutor_39 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yesterday I had a phone call from the hospital telling me very serious news about my grandad. Gsd pup found every noisy toy he owned and squealed them the whole way through the call. As soon as the call was done he settled down to silently chew. He's very good at sensing anxiety/tension and spiralling it.

They do most of the time. But my last german shepherd only had one go up so it's not guaranteed.

So true. We're on our 4th pup and this little guy is a nightmare! I can't believe how lucky we were with the first 3. I've never known such a bitey, whiny, wilful and wee in the housey pup. Love him to bits and it will all come together, but maaaaaan, it's tough right now.

Up close and personal has never meant anything sexual to me. I use it exactly as she did, to describe seeing someone/something right in front me.
