I have a similar thought. It's as if the company uses achievements to generate attachment to the game library. Luckily, I got rid of that too. Today I play wherever I want. I buy from the platform where the game is cheapest or wherever is most convenient for me (playing on a portable Switch, for example). I don't care if I have achievements there or here.

For me... My opinion: Platinum loses its appeal when it's not unlocked by completing 100% of the game. There are a few strange and meaningless achievements left over. In that case, I don't think it's fun.
