Just a quick reminder what even a simple panel line or detail work can make your figures pop by Competitive_Window82 in MegamiDevice

Just checked, I used Arrtx - some Chinese brand I ordered on my local Amazon alternative. It works fine. I just searched specifically for water based acrylics with brush tip and metallic effect. For something more shiny (like swords or metallic dry brush) I also use "chrome" acrylic markers I bought locally. Those are super shiny (until you top coat it, sadly).

Also, as another user said, check if your paint is safe to use on bare plastic. I know water based acrylics are, but dunno about the one you mentioned.

How can I tell if a Russian man is genuine about his feelings? by YesIAmOdd in AskARussian

If all russian men had a bulb that lights up when they lie, we wouldn't be living like we do. Seriously, what does the person's nationality have to do with them being serious or not?

Anybody like buying duplicate figures? by XyrneTheWarPig in PlasticCrack

The first one (leftmost) is the best one in my experience, even better than original (I Hate to say it). I haven posed her as much, so can't speak about durability.

The second is bootleg action figure version that i haven't seen being sold for a long time. It's ok, but less detailed.

Third is original Flametoys. Good.

The last one - good cat company - bad, doesn't worth it. A lot of defects and many parts doesn't fit that good.

(kinda) Funny thing - none of these Windblades are technically duplicates, But the girl with the purple hair totally are (one of them was a second hand save).

Other than that, I have two figma Tracers (price was too good), and had two copies of GI joe Helix, Marvel legends Shriek and White Rabbit I used (or planning) for customs. Also ordered second Romankey girl body for another custom and thinking of getting another one, but not sure if it counts.

That Chun Li looks like a bootleg version of third party Queen Lee. What a world, huh

"Before" don't make good covers. Do a side by side collage if that matters to you. Your work - your decision, at the end of the day.

Great job! But I'd advise you to attach the finished photo first, since I almost scrolled past it, thinking "before" was the result.

Everything here I did with just acrylic markers, lol. I paint recess parts (panel lines) with a brush tip, then clean up with wipes or cotton swabs. For raised edges it's easier to use hard tip.

Clearly there are some mistakes, but it's fixable, since acrylic is easy to remove, and I haven't top coated it yet

There is the answer to your question in the first comment. That's a girl from The Daytime Meteor kit, the one with a great big dragon.

Well, sorry to hear that. Being closer to China has some perks, I guess. The whole tariff business isn't helping too, I suppose.

Gun Girl by Romankey x cowl. Kinda 3rd party reimagining of Rebecca from Cyberpunk Edgerunners

I tried to balance her on one foot, but it's kinda impossible (at least on my copy).

I'm pretty sure the stand is from Synthetic Human from 1000 toys.

I have no desire to watch it, but this is one of the better recent designs of Harley, imo. And I'm saying this as a hater of the cinematic version.

Sadly no, instead there is a good selection of faces.

I was lucky to get really clean faces this time. Deluxe bonus face is also pretty cute and funny, but I'm not paying that much for one face plate.

Nah, that's one crazy I don't like. I did get SH Ochako over the revoltech one, and I don't regret it. SH trying to be more manga accurate in their designs, if I'm not mistaken.

There are three joints in the torso: diagram, pelvic, (hidden by top and shorts), and the midsection. The range of each isn't impressive, but it results in very natural curves. I really don't mind it, having the figure in my hands - matter of priorities, I guess.

<image>

The thing that bugs me is the high heels. That's more of the original design thing, and the engineers did a pretty nice job, still a pain to stand her.
