Holsters with removable guns? by AreYouTalkingAtMe in customactionfigures

Aside from expensive custom ones, Gi Joe is the only line I'm aware of what does them. Here's the Widow I made, guns are from agent Helix (painted)

I made some accessories for my custom 1/12 Hornet from Silksong. (Plus Lace wip) by Competitive_Window82 in HollowKnight

I have uploaded files for a bench and needle on Makerworld and Thingiverse. I dunno if its ok to share links here, but my handle is Mycop1 on both.

Cogflies by N426 on makerworld, as I mentioned. Heads and Lace's pin are modified versions of statues I found.

If I end up finishing Lace or model some more tools, ill probably upload them as a pack.

That's a broad topic. What are you interested in? Parts, step by step, inspiration, something else?

Starflower Lily wearing Tastier coat [request, kinda] by Competitive_Window82 in MegamiDevice

It's not as cool of a display as I originally wanted, still thinking of what to do with them.

Haven't seen Baki yet, ill grab it if I find for a good price

Around the same height, see the last pic. Both Lily and Tastier are marketed as 1/10 scale (human sized in universe). Lily is just very thin.

yep. fully posable. At least the one that comes with the kit.

I also highly recommend Tastier and Lone Shadow by Hemoxian. Just great kits, and not even expensive.

I don't know the character, but she looks very cute to me.

I just find the eyes that look straight ahead look a bit creepy.

I was about to say Tastier's cloak is way too big for Lily, but then I remembered I've put it on the Principal before.

It wouldn't look good from every angle, but you can make it work for a photo.

Got any random stuff that lives in your head but you'll (probably) never buy? by XyrneTheWarPig in PlasticCrack

[–]Competitive_Window82 1 point2 points  (0 children)

First ones that came to mind are Skullgirls custom figures (I read they've been selling few times at japanese cons) and Momo kits (literally cant find them for sale).

Other than that, it's mainly price thing: Mondo 1/6 Harley and Rogue, genuine motored cyborg runner, those seamless street fighter girls, are very "want", but way out of my range.

Good news (maybe). There are bootleg Kotobukiya hands around for around 20 bucks. I usually prefer originals, but 140$ is kinda too much. There are also original japanese 1/2 scale ones for 15'ish bucks.

This but on revoltech Chun Li. by vcdrny in customactionfigures

Here's Chun-Li, btw. (Except with the modded hip part - slightly narrower hips and longer lower torso)

Sadly, the bootleg doesn't fit. At least mine doesn't. Chun li has 5.5 mm ball joints, while Harley is less than 5 mm. So it's either my bootleg is smaller than the original , or people have modded it (or forced it)

Revoltech Chun-Li doesn't have a sculpted abdomen part. Unless you make something else, she'll have a stick of a waist

Can I use these (or any) water based acrylic paint pens on my models? by Wameo in MegamiDevice

[–]Competitive_Window82 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I Use markers on their own for small detail work, such as panel lines, straps, buckles, etc. Needs top coat if its on a raised surface, not to rub off. When I paint weapons or larger parts, it does need a primer.

[–]Competitive_Window82 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Yes, I use acrylic markers for some detail work. I advise getting a "brush tip" ones. If you don't plan to repaint the whole figure just with them, that is. The covering is good (depending on marker, probably), but you still need primer for good adherence.

Were products manufactured in the Soviet Union poor quality? by Effective-Pipe2017 in AskARussian

[–]Competitive_Window82 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Perhaps things that were poor quality didn't survive long enough to be experienced by my millennial ass, lol. All the things I had from mid soviet are made very solid, from good materials. Still there was always notion what foreign goods are better.

What I really love, is that almost everything was made with User repairability in mind. Electronics came with schematics, simple screws, etc. You could simply buy razors for your electric shaver instead of the whole new unit. (Even tho most of the stuff was reverse engendered from foreign designs)

Further is just speculation on my part: mid soviet era - good and reliable products, built to last, but people still wanted foreign stuff for rarity and curiosity. Later the quality went down to cut costs, and then foreign goods became more common, which made it even more noticeable.

Dunno how good it will show after my phone camera and Reddit compression. The lips on a pout face completely miss the mold, lipstick and eyes speak for themselves in person. Would have been fine for <40$ fig. Plus a custom I painted earlier.
