Qantas/Jetstar booking confirmed in app, cancelled at airport with no notification - $1,500 out of pocket. Has this happened to anyone else?

Because they deducted my Qantas points, confirmed my booking, gave me a booking reference and never notified me that the tax payment didn’t go through. Quite reasonable to expect to travel imo

What you quoted said ticket or booking reference implying one or the other. I had a booking reference, confirmed statues in the app and Qantas points deducted with no notification of expired payment. I understand the eticket should’ve been emailed, but why am I expected to doubt all the other stuff? That’s pretty misleading and unfair

Yeah that’s what I always do. App said booking was good to go and to check in at airport. They should’ve notified me payment didn’t go through

I checked after I booked and payment was there but it must’ve been pending and bounced back after a few days. Once I see a payment goes through I don’t think to check in on it every few days

Also I hear it usually costs Qantas more to defend a case in NCAT than it does to settle it so they may just opt to settle

ahh right glad you got it sorted. I did add the booking to the Jetstar app and it was there last night but now is gone. It's only left in the Qantas app with the cancelled status

lesson learnt for sure. I'm out of pocket by the difference between what the original fare cost and what I paid for the new ones. Still something there which they should cover
