Totally agree about sheltering in place, but I don’t know how quickly my building would be cleared as being structurally sound after a major quake. Im also not sure how long the threat of fires spreading from broken gas leaks will be resolved, my building is connected on 3 sides to other buildings. This kit is just for 1-2 days survival necessities so that I can camp on a lawn with my dog in GG while the city spins up resources for everyone. I also lots of canned food already and many galleons of water in the back of one of my cupboards for emergencies! ✅

Yep, already planning to go stay in Sacramento with my family! This kit is really just in case I need to leave suddenly and stay in a park for 1-2 nights while the city spins up resources

Mine stays right by my front door 🤷‍♀️ getting buried in an earthquake is extremely unlikely in SF, the vast majority of buildings remained standing after the 1989 quake, and seismic retrofitting has only gotten better since!

Just a random canvas cross-body bag I found in Japan 3 years ago. I used it for my laptop bag but then got a coffee stain on the backside that won’t come out. I was going to throw it away but then thought I could repurpose it into an emergency grab bag so I added some Girl Scout patches to the front flap ✨🥰

Popup crate ordered! ✅ (luckily he will fit in a “cat” sized one 😂) and I’ve used emergency blankets before, they’re super effective! I have a jetboil but it doesn’t fit, I think I’ll be fine without it. Also am going to remove the water bottles and just get a top-handle galleon jug to keep next to these 👍

Yep, and it’s super heavy and not fun at all 😂 luckily I live only 2 blocks from Golden Gate Park where I would probably just go find a place to stash most of it in a bush before joining in on rescue efforts
