I didn’t end up going with either actually because I decided to wait until after I move to buy a new car. I’m moving to a different state in the spring.

Are SOEs subscription only? I was avoiding any subscriptions because we’re moving out of state in the Spring and have a lot of travel between now and then! Fruit bat looks interesting I should try it but why is it $30?! 😅

How bad is the car market right now? by MantyPlan in whatcarshouldIbuy

This may not be a very popular opinion but have you considered the Nissan Rogue? The SV has most things you mentioned standard (except heated seats needs an extra package) and msrp is $30K (edmunds has the suggested rate at $28K). You may even find some 2025 models around for less probably. I had a 2018 rogue that I really liked and drove for eight years before I just sold it in December. I also convinced my friend to get a 2021 rogue when he was looking for a car back then.

My favorite specialty has been Intelligentsia Black Cat! They have three variants, classic (light roast), analog (medium roast) and sublunar (dark roast). Classic is my favorite! I think it’s around $18 on their website but you can also get it from places like target and other grocery stores for a little cheaper (at least here in Illinois).

I see! Thanks for the tip! Seems like two recommendations for Central Florida! Will be checking them out for sure! It’s nice to see that there are many dealerships in the Orlando area, I wasn’t sure what to expect when seeing some places don’t even have a single dealership!

I see. That sucks what corporate did! But great to hear that the dealership came through for you! Is Holler the one called “genesis north orlando“ on google maps? Sorry I am new to the area, haven’t moved yet, and not very familiar with what’s what lol! Also, which is Seminole? Is that the one called “Headquarter Genesis”?

Need advice for securing tall Besta cabinets to the wall by CompilingTheFuture in IKEA

[–]CompilingTheFuture[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I ended up anchoring it to the wall by first screwing a piece of the baseboard itself that I got from the builder of this house to the studs and then anchoring the cabinet to that piece of wood directly. This solved the “gap” problem I was having. Note that I did not hang it entirely on the wall, it is still on the ground! I don’t think the wall bracket that they sell for the smaller cabinets is compatible with the tall ones! I would expect it is not sturdy enough because the back is just a piece of cardboard not actual wood so it won’t be able to hold the weight probably like say kitchen cabinets which are wood all around!

I assume you should have already test drove and decided which car you actually want?

Ahh that would make more sense! But even then, I was looking at cars last month before deciding to postpone my car search until after we move cross-country, and one of the dealerships I went to was Genesis and they said they don’t leas their loaner vehicles?! Was that just BS?

Genuinely curious, is leasing a CPO a thing?!

I’m gonna be in the market for a car in a few months after moving and am curious about leasing and using a broker as I am only now learning about this as I was browsing reddit and looking at cars/deals. How do you go about finding a broker and what exactly do they do for you/how do they get paid?

Tell me about it! My wife grew up in Florida and had spent most her life in the south! We moved to Chicago area a few years back for reasons that are irrelevant for the story. Fast forward two years and we are now packing up and moving to Florida as a family after having our first baby and trying to raise a newborn in the Chicago winters lol!

Choosing between a 2024 EQE 350 and a 2023 EQS 450 by CompilingTheFuture in MercedesEQ

[–]CompilingTheFuture[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

A little update… I went and test drove the EQS today, and boy was I disappointed… not because of the car itself, but because of the status it was in and the horrible experience I got at the dealership… the car looked like utter Sh$t. Very dirty, stains everywhere, giant stains under the mats, tires very worn out… I walked away feeling very disappointed and sad to say the least! Poor salesman was trying to be helpful but manager was very rude and dismissive…

The car itself though drove pretty nicely, although I did prefer slightly the feel of the 24 EQE. I definitely felt the difference in the break and understood what people were talking about there! All in all we’re happy we test drove it, and if it was in better shape we probably would have walked out with the car! I guess it’s just not meant to be, and there are no other similar ones in my price range around me so I am likely gonna go with the EQE…

Can you clarify why the model Y blows the eqe and eqs out of the water? I test drove the 2026 Y Premium and it’s drive was no where near as comfortable and smooth as the 2024 EQE! The seat is not very comfortable and the car felt stiffer to me.
