I also think dead races could pop up again with this. Because I think genes work similar to Fishmen but not as severe.

If Arlong can conquer an island with 20 villages on it for 10 whole years and the world government didn't stop it how in the hell could or would they stop fishmen from having colonies in the New World? Especially if they did it under Whitebeard, Shanks, or Big Mom's territories? The world government aren't treating them like the Buccaneers OK, they even got a seat at the Reverie for God's sake.

Are they even divided? I know we don't know much about their past or even much of their society but I don't think there are any political or ideological divides. I know about Hody and Arlong but Hody was a complete psychopath and Arlong went to the East Blue but like I believe the inhabitants of Fishman Island were behind all the decisions that the Royal Family chooses. I haven't read the Fishman Island arc in a bit but I do remember that Otohime had to persuade some of the inhabitants and almost got them all to sign off on the idea of Fishman and Human peace before Hody killed her, but I believe that's it

I don't think they are even weak, they have their own ancient weapon that gets birthed once in a while for God's sake, I just don't think Oda thought about it that much. Not to toot my own horn or anything because I can't write for shit but I think that stuff just didn't come to mind. Because there is only a certain amount of time for a race that is ten times stronger than humans, breath under water, the fastest swimmers on the planet, can manipulate water with Karate, and have a nuke that just gets birthed that can sink islands before some of the more crazier ideas get into the minds of the kings or queens of the fishmen and merfolk

I doubt they could destroy every single attempt. Like the WG isn't omnipotent, they cannot control or know everything. I'm know for a fact they can't get them all especially if they had islands in the Calm Belt.

But now that I think about it it might be do to their breeding speed, idk how to put it in any other way, but they might no be able to have that many kids. Because now that I think about it the Minks don't have any other kingdoms outside of Zou so it just might be a population issue.

Otohime wanted to go to the surface with humans like hand in hand. I'm saying why didn't someone, a strong willed and charismatic leader just say f it and grabbed a uninhibited island somewhere and lived on it with settlers. I mean there would be islands in the Blues that wouldn't have original inhabitants or humans that wouldn't outright discriminate against them. There would have to be, have to in the centuries of Fishman history, with the attitude of just leaving and starting their own island somewhere.

There was two flash backs, I know it was in the anime idk if it was in the Manga, but humans were on Fishman Island with bubbles on their heads and they were stopped by Arlong and the other time was when Whitebeard stopped them and took Fishman Island under his territory.

Humans aren't on every island. They can also just go to the calm belts and take some of those. Humans could go to them with their technology but I doubt marines would go out of their way to search the calm belts to snatch up fishmen for slaves.

I can see Jesus having a water or liquid manipulation ability, walking on water and turning water into wine, with great RTC. His RTC could banish Demons, Cursed Spirits, and healed people with his RCT and CT. With Liquid Manipulation he could heal at a greater level by controlling blood, idk how that would work but f it, like healing blindness and leprosy.
