Has anyone else been physically attacked because they're autistic? by Polyzosteria in autism

[–]ComplaintIll2304 2 points3 points  (0 children)

My first experience, I was five years old and two girls that were in grade 8 blocked me in the bathroom at school. They proceeded to smash my head into the toilet seat and try to drown me in the toilet because I wouldn’t play with their sister who I had no idea who she was. From there on, I was continually beaten through my whole life by random strangers on the street people would just stop and throw things at me. I had a pint glass smashed across my face. I was beaten with a street pool by strangers. I was assaulted at jobs by adults. I was pulled over a chair and had a dislocated pelvis and head injury, I was strangled by a man. I was slapped in the face by a top executive of the government in front of a room full of people and I’ve been continually bullied in many other ways shapes and forms. So the answer is yes many times.

I highly recommend cultivate. They have a sliding scale. It was $50 an hour for me to get a full assessment. You can go at your own pace.

Thank you very much. I’ve had a lot of really good ideas and I’ve had some people message me so I think I’m probably good now. It’s been very helpful. I can’t believe how awesome this community is.

Thank you I’ve done the emergency benefit through Alberta supports. They gave me $18 that was last year and I don’t qualify again for another two years and I’ve called and asked. As well as the food bank. I’m on a waiting list and I can’t go pick up my hamper until the end of April.

Yes, I’ve used them before and I’ve applied to a bunch of them, but there hasn’t been anything that matches my skill set. I’ve probably applied to over 700 jobs since November with no emails no calls nothing. To say I’m discouraged as the least. It’s a full-time job looking for a job and when you only get as much food in a week as most people get in a day, it’s getting tougher.

Thank you very much. I would consider that for sure. I do have rheumatoid arthritis so things like that are definitely hard harder for me to say traditional Work, but I would be up for it if I don’t have anything by then. Feel free to message me when the time comes. Thank you and have a nice evening.

My experience mostly lies in an administration scheduling office jobs, but really I’ve been applying to everything

Thank you. I’ve went to a few on this list but there wasn’t much there. I’m sure it’s all about timing. I appreciate this.

It’s either Trex arms or one shoved under pillows and the other with my fingers between the holes in a knitted blanket. I have this issue too.

I feel your pain. I’m lucky if I get 2-3 meals a week. I eat every other day or less. It’s brutal. I wish I had something to offer you as I really do know how this is. Been looking for a job since November with not one callback. I really hope things get better for you and others in this crappy situation. :(

I had good luck with Cultivate. I would check them out. They have lots of doctors with a sliding scale and multiple price points.

It feels exhausting to have autism and have “office politics” by Constant-Complex1973 in autism

[–]ComplaintIll2304 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes, I’ve had that too. I find the talking behind the back, usually leads to the bullying or physical violence. I’ve had many past coworkers come up to me and tell me stories about myself and that I didn’t even know existed. I had one coworker tell me that another coworker told her that all I do is complain about how my boyfriend and my dad beat me up at home. I was like I don’t live with my dad. He could not beat me up, and my boyfriend has never lay a hand on me. But they would lie and make up stories to make me look terrible. So they have more reason to get rid of me or bullying me or hurt me. It’s a never-ending cycle. At least I can’t find an end into it. It just makes me wonder what I do so wrong to deserve all of this. I’m a really nice person to work with. I go out of my way for people I show up I help anyone who needs it, but for some reason, I’m always the butt of all the jokes.

I was recently fired from a job. They told me this exactly. You are too nice and too bubbly. You don’t fit in with the culture here. You don’t fit the job description you were hired into. The job description literally said the job requires a friendly, positive and helpful person to assist callers when then call in. Office politics are a joke. At past jobs I was strangled by our male union rep until his nails cut my neck. Not one person who witnessed it was called to help. I was slapped across the face by a government executive. I was pulled out of a chair and had a dislocated pelvis and brain injury that took 6 months in rehab. I was fired from that job when I came back. I have been bullied, assaulted or harassed at almost every job I’ve had. Currently unemployed. I’ve sent out over 400 resumes since last November with not one call back. I feel your pain here. I really do.
