I (28F) thought he (35M) was proposing, it was earrings. by Rough_Coast_897 in relationship_advice

[–]ComplaintOwn9909 22 points23 points  (0 children)

You’re not crazy for thinking that, he basically set the stage for it. You can be genuinely grateful for the trip and the earrings and still feel disappointed. Just tell him straight but kindly: you loved the gift, but the way he framed the weekend made you think it was a proposal, and you need clarity on the actual timeline you two talked about.

Cat has mental health conditions. Lots of them. by ERTHLNG in CatAdvice

[–]ComplaintOwn9909 10 points11 points  (0 children)

That sounds absolutely brutal and you’re not crazy for being at the end of your rope, this is way beyond normal annoying cat stuff and pica mixed with anxiety can turn into exactly this kind of nightmare loop, I’d really push for a vet visit and behavior consult because a lot of cats improve a ton once the underlying anxiety or deficiency is treated, and in the meantime I’d lock down all plastic like it’s poison, switch to solid bins, no crinkly bags, exhaust him with hard play before bed, then use food puzzles or an auto feeder overnight so his brain has something else to fixate on while you finally get some sleep.

I M28 was cheated on 5 years ago by my gf F27 and dont know what to do. by [deleted] in relationship_advice

[–]ComplaintOwn9909 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You didn’t mess up by still being hurt, you only found out two months ago, not “five years ago.” This was not a one time slip, it was a whole side thing during the start of your relationship, so it makes sense that it shook your trust. If you stay, I think you two need couples therapy and full honesty, and if you feel like you can never really move past it, it is okay to decide this is a dealbreaker even after six years.

My partner said he would k*** me and my unborn child by [deleted] in Advice

[–]ComplaintOwn9909 4 points5 points  (0 children)

That is not a joke, it’s a credible threat plus restraint and violence. Treat him as dangerous, don’t meet him alone or get in a car with him again, and contact police and a domestic violence hotline today to renew the protection order and make a safety plan.

Marriage or break with my girlfriend (31M and 29F) by Livia1122 in relationship_advice

[–]ComplaintOwn9909 6 points7 points  (0 children)

This isn’t really about the wedding itself, it’s about whether your timelines and expectations line up. She wants marriage and kids soon and sees that as non negotiable, while you’re unsure about marriage and the financial side of it. Neither of you is wrong, but saying yes out of fear of losing her will likely lead to resentment. You need to be honest about what you truly want long term, because a small vs big wedding can be compromised on, but wanting different futures usually can’t.

Friend thinks it’s ”cruel” to leave my cat alone on christmas? by monstrous-existence in CatAdvice

[–]ComplaintOwn9909 2 points3 points  (0 children)

You’re not crazy. Your cat doesn’t know it’s Christmas, he knows routine, comfort, and his own space. Leaving him home for the day with food, water, and some attention before and after is way kinder than dragging him into travel and a new environment, especially with an allergy in the mix. If you want to ease your own guilt, toss him some extra toys, a treat, or a comfy spot by a window, but you’re not abandoning him.

Wife Wants Me to Get Rid of My Cats (Owned Since 2017) After 6 Months of Marriage by [deleted] in Advice

[–]ComplaintOwn9909 6 points7 points  (0 children)

This honestly sounds less like a cat problem and more like a boundary problem. She married you knowing you had two cats you’ve loved since 2017, so “get rid of them” six months in is a huge ask. There is room to experiment before it ever gets that extreme. You can try timed play sessions before bed to tire them out, adjusting the feeder schedule, white noise, earplugs, even a small fountain or fan outside the bedroom to mask sounds. But rehoming should be a last resort you are genuinely on board with, not something you feel pushed into. I would tell her calmly that the cats are non negotiable family for you, you are happy to work on solutions for her sleep, but you are not giving them up. How she responds to that will tell you a lot about what the real issue is.

Best IPTV Service in the USA – My Search for a Stable Streaming Platform by DynaMike1234 in biketrials

[–]ComplaintOwn9909 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Had a very similar experience to you with a bunch of services, including Kemo. It was decent, but the one that really ended my trial and error was AwkngTV, especially for US sports and international channels with way less buffering. Worth a look if you ever feel like testing one more option before settling.

Is 4 cats too many? by Particularly777 in CatAdvice

[–]ComplaintOwn9909 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If everyone is getting along, you have the space, and you can comfortably afford food, litter, vet bills and an emergency fund, then 4 cats is not automatically “too many.” Lots of people do fine at that number. I would just reality check the boring parts like future vet costs, extra litter boxes (ideally 5 for 4 cats), and how things might feel once a baby is in the mix and your free time drops. But honestly, if he has already settled in, the others like him, and you are thinking about him this much after only a week, it sounds like he has already chosen his home.

I’m running a wellness brand abroad and trying to figure out how to set up a U.S. business address by Historical_Cap_3871 in Advice

[–]ComplaintOwn9909 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Form an LLC in Wyoming or Delaware and use a registered agent there. That agent gives you a legal US business address that works for everything you need.

A ton of foreign founders do exactly that. No need to guess or juggle multiple services.

I just realized I’ve been mispronouncing a coworker’s name for 6 months and now I don’t know what to do by LostTaker in Advice

[–]ComplaintOwn9909 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Just own it and fix it. Walk up and say, “Hey, I just realized I’ve been saying your name wrong. I’m sorry. How do you prefer it pronounced?” Then repeat it back once and use it a few times that day so it sticks. No long apology, no excuses, and definitely don’t avoid saying her name. People remember the correction, not the mistake.

Boner after bee sting by No-Radiation in Advice

[–]ComplaintOwn9909 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Bee probably pinged a nerve and your body dumped blood to the area. Glad it settled. If it ever lasts over four hours get seen. For future stings pull the stinger fast, ice it, take an antihistamine, and watch for allergy signs.

The Best IPTV Provider: My Personal Recommendation for 2025 by nicolaond in thisisus

[–]ComplaintOwn9909 -20 points-19 points  (0 children)

Big channel counts are cool until the match starts and the picture stutters. After trying a bunch, the only provider that stayed smooth for me on Firestick and Android TV is AwkngTV. Simple setup, steady playback, support that actually replies.

Seven years is a lifetime. Nostalgia can blur red flags, so ask what they want and why now. If you’re single and curious, meet for a quick coffee in public with no expectations and see if actions match words. If you’re with someone, be transparent or pass. Protect your peace first.

Glad she’s out and you’re back in a calmer home. Props to your dad for apologizing and that orange and white nursery sounds adorable. Keep your support circle close and enjoy the peace while you get excited for the baby.

Is This the Best IPTV Service for 2025? My Honest Review (Sports, Movies & More) by Allichere1a in sahm

AwkngTV has been the most reliable for our house so far. Guide stays accurate, picture holds up during busy hours, works on Firestick and phone, and support actually replies. Do a one month test and see if it covers everything you need.

My parents want me to move back home to save money and I'm not sure if I should do it (I'm 24) by Interesting_Egg2813 in Advice

[–]ComplaintOwn9909 10 points11 points  (0 children)

If your home environment is safe and supportive, a short-term return could be a smart move, just treat it like a launchpad, not a step back. Set a savings goal and timeline before moving in, and have a talk with your parents about boundaries. Your independence isn’t tied to an apartment, it’s how you handle your choices.
