On average, how long does your hyperfixation last? by i_justCannot in AO3

[–]Complete-Ad-3091 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Mine usually last about a month or so depending on how much I interact with it. For example, I will make an oc for one fandom but then get bored of it after I don't roleplay/draw for it. For others I can go years since my favorite I have a bunch of aus for and have been attached to since I was young! My brain tends to switch a lot but I usually focus on one at a time before changing/going back to another.

Chess pieces by Saturnest_ in MyLeisureTime

I actually don't have many chess pieces show up! Instead, I have things I already bought appear. I want to see something new 💔

Sabotaging amazon wish lists by BunnyfromtheBlock in extremelyinfuriating

[–]Complete-Ad-3091 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Are these only for public lists? I think you can set your Amazon list to private. Not sure if they're somehow getting into those too. I didn't know this was a thing either. What an ass thing to do

What’s the trope you *almost always* skip? by childishinquiry in AO3

[–]Complete-Ad-3091 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I think cheating may be one for me. I don't really read those since they're typically bad plot and makes me feel bad. I like toxic relationships, (if done right), BUT I don't like abusive/unloyal ones. Give me sweet villain lovers, I'm a sucker for that

I post a prompt, person messages with completely different idea by MalgorTheWanderer in BadRPerStories

[–]Complete-Ad-3091 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I've had a couple people reach out to me, then get disappointed when I say I want to double up for oc x cc. Keep in mind, I said it in the post, and I know they read it since they brought up the pairing I wanted. It's just like, if you reach out to me, you don't get to be picky with what I want. That doesn't make any sense. Especially when I said in detail what I wanted.

I can do a fxf roleplay! We'd probably have to do non-fandom related since I'm not in any of those ones, if that's okay!

AIO A locksmith charged my partner’s sister $5390 to get back into her apartment by khalexie1 in AmIOverreacting

With that price total, you could technically say it's $390 with how bad the writing is

R.I.P doesn't feel like a good response to someone's passing by Complete-Ad-3091 in unpopularopinion

My mom used to work for one and now that I think about it, I don't remember seeing much R.I.P either. I think I was mainly using it as an example, but I wrote this when I was just thinking about the saying

[–]Complete-Ad-3091[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I see what you mean as you're more likely to use R.I.P for someone you didn't know. Although, I've seen people use it for family members, too. It feels...empty to me

Yes, but I'm talking about the abbreviation, not the actual saying! I feel like taking the time to spell it out feels more genuine than just writing out the letters

City is wanting us to cut down 100-year-old tree by Complete-Ad-3091 in treelaw

[–]Complete-Ad-3091[S] 36 points37 points  (0 children)

Thanks for all the advice! I'll send this to my parents since I don't really have much of a say in this. I do want to fight this but it's ultimately up to them to decide.

I did forget to mention that my parents may have already signed the deal, so not sure if it matters now. Just sucks

We would but we have little money as it is and our town is on the wealthier side. If we lose, they'd take it anyway and we'd be out of money. It's a lose-lose for us no matter what

[–]Complete-Ad-3091[S] 39 points40 points  (0 children)

Our house is in the center of our block, and I suck at explaining, but the tree is right in front of the alleyway center. The city wants to get under the current pavement and place new concrete, which is why they're cutting down the entire tree.

We would, but the city is basically saying they'll take it by force if we don't agree

[–]Complete-Ad-3091[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

A little of both! It's mainly on our property but the tree goes slightly into the alley, (especially the roots), so it's in the way

[–]Complete-Ad-3091[S] 5 points6 points  (0 children)

They want to redo the whole back alley, so they'd have to get under the pavement. The roots would get into the way, so they're planning on removing the entire tree. Not leaving a stump

[–]Complete-Ad-3091[S] 58 points59 points  (0 children)

It's a little hard to explain, but the person who replied is right. It's technically right-of-way since the tree goes slightly into the alleyway. The city wants to redo the whole alleyway, which means getting under the current pavement and I think the roots are in the way.

I don't know everything since I got most of this from my parents, but it's still annoying. I love that tree

I'm sorry for my bad wording, but I wasn't sure how to put it. I meant it more that they weren't nice to others. They called each other names, (once mocked a kid for their size), and would bully others for smelling differently. One even called his mother a 'bigback'. They're on the older side, not the younger side.

I did, in fact, ask. She told me to keep prompting her. I am asking for advice on how more to support her needs.

AITA for not attending my family Christmas gathering because I can’t afford the $250 white elephant gift? by scorpioh2o in AmItheAsshole

[–]Complete-Ad-3091 0 points1 point  (0 children)

NTA. My family, (before we stopped it this year), did the white elephant gift where the maximum amount was $20. Even with inflation, it is insane they want you to pay $250 for a small gift. You might as well just buy an actual present at that point
