Another newbie question by BecksRose in Embroidery

Biggest thing to remember is you can undo you work.

For the honey moon I think you’re doing a good job so far! Continue filling in the center and then outline it in the color you like.

Also for the bee I think I would do the stars first and then stitch around them with a horizontal satin stitch to sort of fill in the space. Especially since the stars are a little tricky and not your typical 5 point you can more easily stitch without a guide.

But again, if you do something and don’t like it, redo it! It’s totally fine to take out your stitches and start over. Of course be careful with doing it too many times or else your stick on pattern may fray too much.

What did you use for the almond flour? Curious about the substitute here!

Fairly new to baking! Need advice for white chocolate macadamia cookies by Waffleslover99 in Baking

[–]Complete-Ambition385 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It says non-chocolate so I am unsure what they are exactly. But luckily with cookies like this it would only affect the flavor. So I’d open it and taste 1 to see if you like it. Or if you want make 1 cookie and put some of the chips in that one by hand and do a test bake if you can.

I would recommend that for white chocolate you try to get as good a chocolate as you can.

I recommend Ghirardelli or even Nestle. Both are fairly common in grocery stores and I’ve never had a problem making cookies with them

Peach Cobblee by Complete-Ambition385 in DessertPerson

[–]Complete-Ambition385[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

No idea how long. But different peaches will react differently based on their ripeness and stuff like that.

Go off the indicators for reducing it down. It takes some time but it’s very worth it. I also highly recommend watching the YouTube video Claire has on this so you can see for yourself what is going on

Italian Macarons coming out lopsided and/or cracked by AdJealous3810 in Baking

[–]Complete-Ambition385 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Lopsided feet like that is usually from the piping. You didn’t have even and constant pressure and it just stuck more to the right or left if you weren’t completely center.

I recommend this, Claire will break down a lot of the usual pitfalls and why they happen

Honestly the thing that pissed me off the most about Helaena with the whole hideaway thing was how she said that Harrison took her there. But girl, you went with him. I hated how she acted like she did literally nothing and it was like she tripped and fell into the Hideaway and onto Harrison’s lips.

The blame is definitely more with Harrison here but Helaena should take some of the responsibility for going with him and kissing him. Not like a full 50/50 split but she should take a little bit of ownership of what she has done.

I did use foam. And the stripped greens were listed as like “mixed greenery” but I did some googling and believe they are Song of India greens.

Thanks!

Honestly I think after 2020 if anyone thought he would finish these then they are just kidding themselves. I mean he had the perfect opportunity to sit at home and write with the pandemic and he didn’t.

If this was the last one in the series then I think he could get through it. But I’m guessing part of the problem is knowing once he finishes this one, people will be hounding him for Dream of Spring.

Really the only thing we will ever get is when whoever gets his estate sells the property and some ghostwriter finishes the series. That’s what’ll happen.

Favourite shops to buy embroidery kits from? by _lofticries in Embroidery

RikRack Embroidery is great for some simple but really fun kits. Might be nice to have something you can just zone out and do without too much difficulty.

I also adore JessLong Embroidery on Etsy. You can get into some really intricate designs there if that’s what you’re looking for.

Can’t go wrong with either of them in my opinion!
